      I remember my dad listening to this song when I was really young. It stuck with me all these years.

      This is the song that got me first hooked on music from this era.

      I'm glad he dodged the draft, because this song is amazing.

    The first two were easy to figure out. The rest however... I couldn't put up any Eagles, or CCR. And I only got 1 Allman Brothers song up. I think the Grass Roots were to early for this survey, otherwise they'd be all over it.

      My most obscure song...but also most powerful and beautiful love song...listen to the song change direction half-way through. It goes from soft and pure to over the top passion.

      Beautiful classic by Bernard John Taupin, released in the summer of '70.

      The guy with the voice of a Broadway singer came up with a powerful ballad.

      So many songs to choose from the Brothers Gibb, but this one may take the cake.
    • 5. When I Need You by Leo Sayer
      Best "who is that" artist...no one knows him but everyone knows his songs. #1 on Billboard on my girlfriend's b-day in May of 1977 :)
    • 4. More Than A Feeling by Boston
      Best pick-me-up song in the morning.
    • 3. If by Bread
      David Gates...most incredible song writer of romantic music.
    • 2. Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen
      Greatest vocalist of all time in rock music...some of their best songs have never been heard by most people.
    • 1. Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel
      Best singer (Garfunkel) and songwriter (Simon)... maybe ever.

    Originally released on the album 'Days of Future Passed' in 1968, "Nights In White Satin" made it to the #2 position on the charts in 1972....but I still associate it with the sixties and Vietnam. I could have put about 100 more. Hope you enjoy my picks!

I'm sure I'll think of some I forgot, but that's most of my favorites.
