They haven't got an album out just to sell them but only to please themselves with their music.

    • 10. Some Kind Of Wonderful by Grand Funk
She's some kind of wonderful, yes she is...fun, great song and often lost to the (ugh) Locomotion (ruined by Kylie in the 80's).
    • 9. Layla by Derek & The Dominos
The guitar on this is great. I never liked the acoustic version but the fact that it could work without the part that made this song so great is incredible.
    • 8. Stayin' Alive by Bee Gees
I love the Bee Gees' bad rap for the disco moniker, but 'Words', 'Stayin' Alive', 'You Should Be Dancing' and so many more are awesome songs.
    • 7. Run Through The Jungle by Creedence Clearwater Revival
They are another band that is late 60's - early 70's, and so many of the songs are '69/'70 cusp that it's hard to pick one that is for certain a seventies hit. So I picked this one. Also, it's the only song that John Fogerty was sued for because of recording another song that sounded too similar to it (his own song!!!).
    • 6. Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd
Turn it up - great opener, great stick it to Neil Young.
    • 5. Black Betty by Ram Jam

    • 4. Let It Ride by Bachman-Turner Overdrive
I love this song. Again, great guitar... memorable.
    • 3. Dream On by Aerosmith
The words are okay but the music is simply haunting.
    • 2. Hand Me Down World by Guess Who
There are a ton of great songs by them... 'She's Come Undone', 'Laughing', but those are 60's songs... not 70's.
    • 1. Desperado by Eagles
Everyone picks 'Hotel California', but I love 'Desperado'. It is hauntingly real and the lyrics are about life today and that of the rock star...it's prophetic. You better let somebody love you...before it's tooooooo...late

Who said the 70's sucked for music? There is great music from the 70's you just don't realise it came from that decade since it is so synonymous with disco and that is all people think was played and recorded.

    • 10. Hurdy Gurdy Man by Donovan

Makes me nostalgic of my teenage years, and the harmonica is awesome.
    • 8. Your Time Is Gonna Come by Led Zeppelin
Another Zeppelin song featuring the underrated keyboard playing of John Paul Jones. It's great, especially during the chorus.

Beautiful, desprate love song, the symphony and the poem at the end is my favorite part.
    • 6. Swan Song by Led Zeppelin
The most overlooked Zeppelin song of all time. The instruments blend together so well.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Some of the greatest lyrics ever put to paper.
    • 1. Thank You by Led Zeppelin
I still can't decide between the original and the BBC version; probably the best guitar solo I've ever heard, and the key board at the end is phenomenal.

Sorry I didn't get to mention any Beatles songs.
