The theme song for my far out memories of Roller Derby.

This is the most righteous rapper ever -- even better than Reunion, and Reunion is righteous!

All Six Brady Kids really get it together!

      Nevermind The Sex Pistols.

This song is so groovy, it makes me feel like I'm a kernel becoming a popcorn in a portable popper with slo-drip butter.

Honorable Mentions: Me & Mrs. Jones - Billy Paul, Give Me That Thing - The Pipkins, Hot Child In The City - Nick Gilder, The Night Chicago Died - Paper Lace, Undercover Angel - Alan O'Day, With A Little Luck - Wings.

    • 10. Sweet Leaf by Black Sabbath
I didn't appreciate the intense gift of Ozzy, Tony Iommi, Terry Butler, and Bill Ward until college. I truly love Black Sabbath.
    • 9. Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
Unspeakably creepy, yet beautiful at the same time song. Wonderful.
    • 8. Deacon Blues by Steely Dan
This song just reminds me of summertime when I was a kid. Though, somewhat depressing if you listen to the words it's still a great song.
    • 7. Jammin' by Bob Marley
What a visionary, peace maker, love giver, etc. No words can truly give justice to the man and his music.
    • 6. I Want To Take You Higher by Sly & The Family Stone
This is more of a late discovery. I don't remember this song so much as a kid, but it's very fun to dance to no matter what one's age.
    • 5. Beth by KISS
'Couples skate only', I was a nervous 10-year-old holding some boy's hand on the skating rink going round in circles... ah--childhood romance.
    • 4. Band On The Run by Paul McCartney & Wings
I was sad when the Beatles broke up. Though I knew this was a Wings song, I would still envision the Beatles in "HELP" like scenarios as the band on the run.
    • 3. Wildfire by Michael Martin Murphey
The chick in this song looses her horse in a blizzard, and in turn she dies looking for it. An avid horse lover as a child, this song made me cry.
    • 2. Rhinestone Cowboy by Glen Campbell
I used to put on my cowgirl outfit and pretend I was some rodeo star...pretty funny.
    • 1. Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds by The Beatles
I was a kid in the 70's and this song inspired visions in my imagination, a kind of Willy Wonka place... it still takes me there.

    • 10. Rock Is My Life (This Is My Song) by Bachman-Turner Overdrive
From the 'Not Fragile' album that contained "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet", yet to a 14-year-old kid playing guitar in a garage while listening to this in quad, the lyrics pretty well summed up my reality.
    • 9. Slow Dancin' (Swayin' To The Music) by Johnny Rivers
Listen, before you start to laugh, how about you remembering for just a moment the very first song that was playing the very first time you scored.
    • 8. Taxi by Harry Chapin
One of the keys to the beauty of songs in the seventies had to be the story-telling of so many artists. He meets a girl he used to know...and then..."and here she's acting happy in her home and her fine-trimmed lawn, and me I'm flying in my taxi, taking tips, getting stoned. I go flying so high---when I'm stoned."
    • 7. Love To Love You Baby by Donna Summer
Everybody wondered "Who the heck was the lucky person in the studio who 'coached' Donna through her climactic vocals?"
    • 6. Layla by Derek & The Dominos
Incredible guitar on this masterpiece! Not to be mistaken with the sloshy remake years later by the accomplished lounge guitarist Eric Clapton.
    • 5. Stairway To Heaven by Led Zeppelin
One of numerous classics by the best of the seventies. Who doesn't just rock out in their car when a classic station plays this?
    • 4. We Will Rock You by Queen
They'd play this at lunch in the cafeteria until the principal banned it because we all banged our fists on the tables (probably a prelude to Pink Floyd's "Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2)", but that was another decade-sorry). The good part was if you bought the 45 you never had to play that sappy "We Are The Champions" (not to be mistaken with that boorish "Another One Bites The Dust"-yeah, the eighties rocked, ha-ha).
    • 3. More Than A Feeling by Boston
Have you ever noticed that when you still hear this classic on the radio when you hear the line "I hide in my music, forget the day, and dream of a girl I used to know..." and even though it's been a millenia ago, you still think of a girl from high school, and suddenly, you're back...
    • 2. All Right Now by Free
Pure sex, sex, and more sex! Thousands of air guitar players still playing on their steering wheels through the incredible solo on this classic!
    • 1. Rock And Roll All Nite by KISS
Was there any other song that just made you crank it up and scream out our personal anthem more than this? I think not!

Thanks for the refresher, the seventies definitely rocked!!!
