    • 10. Gallows Pole by Led Zeppelin
Definitely one of the most Western-inspired Zeppelin tracks. A real treat both musically and lyrically.
    • 9. Atlantis by Donovan
I heard this track on a lot of various soundtracks and never dreamt it was by Donovan. A very underrated song, I'd easily put it up there with the best rock ballads.
    • 8. Blister On The Moon by The Taste
My favourite track by my all-time favourite Irish band. Rory Gallagher makes Bono and the Edge look like beginners.
    • 7. Hush by Deep Purple
Typical Purple, electric party rock tune.
    • 6. L'America by The Doors
I would probably list all Doors tracks in my all-time top 10. But since I'm limited to 70's stuff this would be my second favourite track off L.A Woman.
    • 5. Shelter From The Storm by Bob Dylan
Again I prefer Dylan's 60's stuff, but Shelter would be one of my faves.
    • 4. The Passenger by Iggy Pop
One of a small few Iggy songs I'd bother to listen to. A great late night travelling song.
    • 3. Tublar Bells (1+2) by Mike Oldfield
I suppose you could class this as an album, but with only two tracks I'm gonna take it as one long ass song. I can't even describe it...just a masterpiece.
    • 2. One Of These Days by Pink Floyd
My first and favourite Floyd Track. It made me play bass.
    • 1. Riders Of The Storm by The Doors
The Doors are my favourite group from any period. Although I would rate The End as my fave Doors song and my fave song of all-time, 'Riders' would be their best track of the 70's.

Although I prefer 60's music, looking through my collection while making this top 10, I forgot just how many great tracks came out during the 70's also.

    • 10. Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen
I love everything Freddy Mercury ever sang. No one else will ever sound like that.

Gotta Love Ted Nugent, and I did when I was about 14. Like I said, I'm old.
    • 8. Island Girl by Elton John
This was one of the songs on the Juke Box at the Dairy Queen where my mom worked on weekends when I was about 15. The juke box malfunctioned one weekend and you could just punch in all the songs you wanted and it just kept playing. They closed on Saturday night and it was still playing when they opened up Sunday morning. Someone punched in Island Girl about a hundred and forty eleven times........we were sick of it after that, but it brings back a good memory when I hear it.
    • 7. Beatin' Around The Bush by AC/DC
      I just love AC/DC.
    • 6. Runnin' With The Devil by Van Halen
Van Halen was my first concert. It was the most fun I ever had. Van Halen's first album had been out for about 6 months........Lordy, I'm old.
    • 5. Slow Ride by Foghat
This was the background music to many a late nights in the backseat of N.A.'s car.......he loved to listen to this song while we were ........doing our homework?........He's a Pentecostal Preacher now.....my, my ....how times change.......
    • 4. Walk This Way by Aerosmith
I remember sitting in study hall, my junior year in High School, listening to the radio. This song came on and I argued with one of my friends about who it was. He said it was Ted Nugent. I said I didn't know who it was but it wasn't Ted Nugent. Man.......that was eons ago. I'm old.
    • 3. My Sharona by The Knack
I can remember when this song made the hairs on my arms stand on end. :)
    • 2. The Girl's Got Rhythm by AC/DC
      Backseat rhythm.......:)
