    • 10. Kashmir by Led Zeppelin
The only song I really love by them. Since they defined the 70's I thought it should be included. Punk was much better though.
    • 9. Black Betty by Ram Jam
      See above.
    • 8. Thunder Island by Jay Ferguson
Guilty pleasure. I don't know if it stands up, but I loved it as a kid.

The only Kiss song that makes the grade. The only one I ever need to listen to.
    • 6. Keen by That Petrol Emotion

    • 5. Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment by Ramones

    • 4. Beat On The Brat by Ramones
Punk at its best. Witty and undeniably catchy.

The most underrated album from this great band and the best song from it though many others could have easily replaced it.
    • 2. Rudie Can't Fail by The Clash
Another band of historic importance, but they have more personal importance. This song is brilliant and pulls together the best album ever made.
    • 1. Paint It, Black by Rolling Stones
This band's historic standing was no accident and this song defined them. A true masterpiece.

Punk defined the 70's for me so I would recommend Joy Division, New Order, Vibrators, Buzzcocks, Echo & The Bunnymen, more by The Clash and Ramones, Sex Pistols, Wire, Elvis Costello, Talking Heads, Devo, Cure, Blondie, Brian Eno, etc..., but I thought an eclectic list would work better so here it is.
