I love(d) Upsie Downsies! I bought one in the very early 70's, at a Southern Dept. store named Gaylord's (of all things). I knew that this could not have possibly been a "boy's toy".. Still, I couldn't help but be attracted to it's bright fluorescent colors, & it's too cute/ mod-trippy design. My Upsie Downsie was yellow-green & it came with a same color/ pig faced mini-bus.. I'm a sucker for toys accompanied by vehicles; spaceships, batmobile types, scooters, etc.. Since then, I've learned that Upsie Downsies are very collectible/ valuable, and that there is sizable Upsie Downsie community.. Who would've thought it?.. Upsie Downsies ROCK! & Upsie Downsie Collectors ROCK ON!!

I had a whole collection of Upsie Downsies. I had a playing board (Upsie Downsie Land), with a whole bunch of figurines. I can't visualize them all now, I just know I ADORED being in my little world with these beloved toys. I remember an orange bridge, and a vehicle that rode really nicely on it as I pushed it around the board. I wish I could find them again...I would love to start collecting them.

I remember when I was in first grade in Anchorage in 1970, a lot of the girls there had Upsie Downsie land things, but I never saw them anywhere else. Were they a regional thing, distribution-wise?

I grew up just north of Toronto, and my ended up with the odd toy from my more fortunate neighbors. Pieces of the Upsie Downsie world I still have. The little green fence, a car that has a scary boy face on one side and a happy girl face on the opposite, a purple dude with hands growing out of his head (to stand on of course), and a purple weird kind of dino-creature. When I find come across these toys I smile, and remember how simple things used to be. Glad I kept them.

My brother and I had Upsie Downsie Land. My favorite Upsie Downsie rode on a 'wheel' made out of feet...trippy. This was during the era of Sid and Marty Crofts drug inspired TV shows. It was the trickle-down theory of drug use. They did the drugs and we got the wacky toys. I don't think Surely ever had an Upsie Downsies. Valorie, I am so jealous that you still have yours. Danielle

I had one or two of these, and my bestest friend had one, too. I remember how the playing boards for each doll were different, and they could be "linked" together with a little plastic bridge. Cool! Whatever happened to them?
