Do you recall a toy from the early 70's called Tapper Snappers? You put them over your shoes and they made a clicking sound when you walked? I can't seem to find any information about them. I think that is the right name.

I thought I'd dreamed these up, no one remembers them! I loved mine but my mom didn't because of the noise. :-) Thanks so much for confirming my memories!

My Dad created tapper Snapper's and the commercial was actually done with all the kids in my neighborhood on the block I lived on. All the kids from my grade school in RVC, NY was in it. My Mom was the ladt that called out the window, "hey kids, whats that noise" and my Dad was the keystone cop. There's info for ya.

I just noticed that I didn’t accurately communicate in my first post. Sorry, wasn’t intentional. My Dad didn’t “create” the actual toy. He created the marketing behind it while he was working for Mego.

Well Kids, My Mom passed away over a year ago. Apparently, she had the Tap A Snapper commercials all these years. I had them put on a flash drive for viewing and so that I could hear my moms voice forever. This website does not seem to allow a link. However, I posted them on my Facebook page. I will do my best to get it up and functioning for you.
