I had a Jody doll, got her for Christmas circa 1975. I liked her more than Barbie since she was a "normal" girl. I had Jody until Junior High School when all my dolls went missing.

Yay Jody! I remember getting Jody room playsets one year for Christmas. There was a Victorian parlor with a "velvet" settee, a victrola & a tea set; a country kitchen with a black pot belly stove & an "oak" kitchen table & chairs; a general store with all kinds of old-timey food packages & a barrel with a checkers game on it. I think there was a schoolroom & a farm too that came with a little beige horse. I loved Jody because she reminded me of Laura from "Little House on the Prairie".

I will be putting up on Ebay my old Jody and her General Store. Missing only a couple of things like the coal; Rocking Chair seat (legs are included); the box of soap powder; the 2 spoons, 2 knifes, 2 forks; and the 2 candy jars with real candy. Hope the picture helps with the info here.

Also of note, is the fact that the plastic used was very very cheap plastic. It melts at low temperatures, or I should say it sticks to the other pieces of plastic. perhaps it is because it is old, I do not know. But very fragile I would say.

I LOVED my Jody doll and the Country Kitchen Set. I lost it sometime around 1978, when my family moved to another home. That was one of the best Christmas presents that I can remember. Jody and her kitchen along with paper dolls with magnets that held the clothes on....WOW. ((((smile))))

I had Jody and her Country Kitchen growing up. It was one of my favorite toys. I lost the kitchen somewhere in the shuffle of childhood. I just found the doll on ebay and won her in auction. She is in Mint condition and completely displayable. Nice Memory!

My mom is moving and in helping her clean out, I found my Jody & a complete, in the box, county kitchen with every little piece....it's still really cute!

I had the Jodi doll & her general store.I LOVED her & spent hours playing with her. The store was so absolutely cute ! It had a pot-bellied stove with "real" pieces of "coal" that were made of plastic. There were also candy dishes that cam e with some very small squares of real candy. There were scoops for the candy dishes. There were plastic barrels..a checker board, a rocking chair, and I think a cash register. Jodi herself was beautifully detailed with floor-length long auburn/red hair and an old fashioned victorian style dress with a high collar, and even high-top shoes.. I think she had a hat, too. I would so love to see one of these again. I got mine in the 70's as a Christmas gift. I lost her when , after I married at 17, my now ex-husband forced me to sell her in a yard sale !!!

I remember the commercial for Jody fondly; I always kind of liked the jingle. I wish it would turn up on YouTube...

I was a Sunshine Doll fan but I collected the Jody playsets because like the Sunshines, Jody was exactly the same size. My Sunshines had a piano, and a cool kitchen. Sweet memories.

I too Jake loved the Sunshines and they got to benefit with Jody's playsets! Jody's furniture was cooler, and my Sunshine and Happy family lived in those sets. My Happy Grandma ran the country store, and the Sunshine grandparents lived in the Parlor... it was too cool! I loved Sunshines more than my big Jims and GI joes

Hey guys! Did you know that Jody's clothes looked absolutely FAB on Stephie and the all the Sunshine doll ladies? Sunshine doll collectors are huge and apparently they collect Jody stuff for the same reasons.. not too many 9 inch doll stuff out there! Barbie was a giant compared to them! IDEAL and Mattel should bring them back! Bratz ho dolls just don't measure up!

About 2 years ago, I was describing the Jody doll to my friend, lamenting the fact she was my favorite doll and I couldn't even remember her name. Lo and behold, the next day my friend brought her in!! She had a bag of old toys that was headed for the trash, and she remembered that Jody was in there! So once again, I have my very own Jody doll.

I was just talking about this doll to a friend today. I had Jody and her Kitchen...I remember all the tiny pieces and it took me longer to set it all up to how I wanted it, then it took me to play with her. I am not sure what happened to her after I grew up, but it was nice going down memory lane.

I remember the day I got her at Toys R' Us. They had two versions, a redhead and a black one. I guess they were capitalizing on the Little House on the Prairie craze. She had a beautiful face and I remember her wearing a tan dress and black booties. I wish I had kept my doll collection instead of giving it to people who didn't value it.
