Description
Dawn dolls were much, much smaller Barbie-like dolls. They usually had very long, straight hair ('70s style) and there were at least 15-20 different dolls. I wanted very much to collect all of the Dawn dolls on display at my local toy shop, but only got to collect Dawn herself before my money started having to go to replace the 3-speed bike I'd left on the driveway. (My parents had already replaced one, so this time I had to pay for it -- and yes, you guessed it, I *still* have the one that cost my very own .85.)

I have three dawn dolls. One is the original, one came with several wigs and the third is Dina, who has long blonde blonde plaits. I loved my Dawn dolls, but GEESH thier shoes were IMPOSSIBLE to keep track of!

I used to have Dancing Dawn Dolls. Her arms, neck/head, legs and maybe hips were internally connected, and so when you moved her arm up and down, her head and hips/leg would twist back and forth in opposite directions.

i used to have all the dawn dolls-if memory serves me.my favorite had long black hair. i also had the dancing stage or was it the model run way? it was a stage with little sticks protruding for you to snap the dolls feet onto-then you move the levers back and forth and in and out-then the dolls would "dance" or walk the runway as the protruding sticks went the lenth of a track. i recently bought a dark hair dawn doll at a flea market.the black girl and the men -one of which was black also-are the hardest to get and the most expensive.

dear crazy amy, if you ever get to read this- what you described was actually the dawn beauty pagaent stage - which was bubblegum pink and afforded the chance to pit your dawn dolls up against each other in a fashion show beauty pagaent- i still have it somewhere in a secret toy closet of all my ancient favorite toys!

I too had the fashion show toy for my dolls- i got it for Christmas one year and loved it- you stuck the dolls on the sticks and they walked around a circle and i think even spun around at the front? I would love to see a picture of it
