Description
Plastic marbles on plastic strings connected to central hook. Object was to use your stick, spear the black plastic marbles, and stack them using the stick only. Eventually the weight of the added marbles would cause a "breaking point". Loser is the one who places the last marble before it breaks. We LOVED this game.

Breaking Point was sold by Ideal Toys, 1976-77. Tease on the box: It Takes Nerves of Steel, a Keen Eye and Steady Hand To Make It Past the Breaking Point. eBay has a few of these, complete with instructions and poking sticks. TV commercial aired on "Way Out Games" over CBS (9/25/76). Show was a parody of ABC's "Almost Anything Goes," only kids and teens were contestants as teams. Sonny Fox was host. Games combined athletics with humor. 26 episodes were taped, which included regular competition, playoffs and championship show. When reruns began, CBS moved "Way Out Games" from Saturday to Sunday mornings. Cancelled after one season.
