Description
This may not have been the actual name, but it was the most common term for a cute baby doll that tinkles its diaper and cries real tears (when your young 'un added water of course).

Actually called Betsy Wetsy...I saw the old commercial in a class I was taking. "She cries and wets just like a real baby". Just Like a Real Baby seemed very important to the makers of Betsy Wetsy. They said it like fifty times in the commercial.

Take a guess as to why I positively HATED this doll!!! LOL My cousins took no end of delight in teasing me about it too. Eventually I bashed one of them in the mouth with my trusty metal lunchbox and I didn't even get in trouble because everyone knew how badly I was being teased. That dang doll still comes up from time to time and I still despise her, but once you are over 18 you can't whack anyone with your lunchbox anymore :)~

i feel your pain Betsy #1 and #2. My personal wrath was for Chatty Kathy. not nearly as bad as Betsy Wetsy but still. to have a grown up neighbor woman refer to me as Chatty Kathy endlessly was a bit much
