The first Baby Tenderloves' factory burned down, so they stopped making them for awhile. I got mine in the 70's; my parents had a hard time finding mine because of it.

I got my Bless You Baby Tender Love when I was 8ish. Around 11 I decided she needed the dust cleaned out of her eyes. I used nail polish remover! She now looks like the old blind guy in Kung Fu (snatch the pebble from my hand Grasshopper) but I still have her. And she still sneezes! I am 45 and will keep her forever!

Kathryn - October 03, 2010 - Report this comment
yes bless you baby tenderlove would sneeze when you press/squeezed her tummy several times (had to build up to the big achoo) her nose also ran if you have given her her bottle. i had the bathtime tenderlove and the bless you one. unfortunately I decided bathtime tenderlove needed to have chicken pox so i gave her ink pox marks. I also had the happy birthday tenderlove. she would blow a horn, a paper blow things, and would blow out the candle on her plastic cake.

My Favorite baby doll in the world, was ( still is) the original baby tender love. She had the pink bow in her hair, and a little pink shirt, with baby shorts and pink booties, and I think she came with a bottle. The best Christmas present ever, from Santa!..I out-grew her,and I do beleive she was donated to a used toy store, years back.Does anyone know, where I can purchase another one?I know It would be a vintage doll by now, since I got her in the early 70's.

I remember I had a few Baby Tender Loves. Two were just plain, pretty dolls. The third one would do one of three things depending on where you moved her head. If you turned it to the one side, she would smile, the other side, she'd cry and in the middle, I believe she just had a basic look on her face. I remember when I got this one around 7, I thought it was awesome! I'm almost 45, now, so that had to have been around 1973 or so.

I can't believe all of you know and have the Baby Tender Love. I got the African American Baby Tender Love when I was 3 years old and I loved her so much. I had some other dolls, too, but she was my favorite toy. I was crazy about her. And of all the toys I had back in the 1970's, Baby Tender Love is the only one I still have. I don't know what happened to her bottle nor do I remember if she had clothes. Today, she wears this little two piece outfit I wore when I was eight months old. I'm 41 now and just this week decided to "play" with her again. I think I love her more now, then when I was 3. By the way, she's in mint condition.

One of my first dolls was the original Mattel's Baby Tender Love. We took so many baths together that her flesh started to get black freckles. I received Living Baby Tender love for Christmas in 1973 at the age of 8. I loved her too. She was jointed so she could sit up in a highchair or in a stroller. I still have them both, freckles and all. I'm 45 now.

I adored my Baby Brother Tender Love doll that I received in 1977 for Christmas--two months after my only brother was born--and I was 7. I don't know what happened to my original doll. But, after a recent nostalgic talk with my own little girl I went on eBay and bought a never-used Baby Brother Tender Love. Oh, the memories that flowed when I opened the box and saw that little face & outfit again! Guess what Santa is leaving at our house this year?

I have a Nature Baby tender love listed on ebay right now. My ebay i.d is Velvet_Pumpkins. I was told she is the rarest of the baby tender loves to find. I love her and it is really hard to let her go :-)

I'm 47 and I still have my Baby Tender Love Mattel 1969 Mexico). She's in great shape but her bottle and pink outfit are long gone so she wears one of the tiny t-shirts that one of my real babies was given in the hospital when he was born. My youngest is 4 and a few years ago he found her and his brothers asked him if she was his girlfriend, lol. It stuck and now that's what we call her...Girlfriend : ) She's a fixture in the playroom and even though they don't "play" with her, they all want to keep her. Probably because she was mine when I was little. It was so nice reading all of your stories. Who knew this sweet baby doll would still be loved by so many all these years later!!

I have baby brother tender love, I sat on Santas lap and asked for a baby boy doll. I was three years old. Santa brought him for me on Christmas morning. I named him Joe Doll. I am 41 now and although he is not in the best shape I still love him as much today as I did when I got him! Anyone know if he could be restored?

I still have my Talking Baby Tender Love that I got for Christmas in 1971. So now she is 50 years old! She has the little pink bow in the back of her head and still talks. I was thinking of finding her a new home, so if anyone is looking for one, contact me at carolepatti@gmail.com.
