No, I also remember drinking from them when I was 3 and it drove me crazy that no one else could remember them. It was a clear plastic bag with red juice in it that laid flat and you drank it with a straw. I think it was called Sippity do dah though :0)

Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah is a song in Disneyland Fun Sing Along. I loved that song as a baby and when I was 2 1/2 I would rewind the tape a million times so I could listen to it over and over again. Now I watch it on YouTube.

I remember these also - does anyone remember the jingle? I'd love to find the old commercial and hear it, because from what I remember, the jingle was one of those stick in your head songs!

Had to be 1974 or 75...Mom comes home (sick from school that day) with some red liquid in a plastic sandwich bag. Seem to remember them being called "Zips." But wow, other people remembered them too, thought I was the only one.....

OH My Goodness!!!! I am sitting here screaming, "I am not crazy!!!" Nobody in my family remembers these. My Grandmother use to give them to me in the early 70's. It is so good to hear that others remember them. I too thought they were Zipty Do Das! Thank you for proving my sanity all!

I too thought no one remembered them. What a great time it was to play outside and carry your drink with you. I am so glad others remember these drinks. Now I am going to seach YouTube for the commercial.

You can get them in strawberry orange or grape, but whether it's red or orange or purple,aSippity Doo Dah is good...till the very last slurple! That was the actual jingle,I kid you not!

I have asked so many people if they remember these and they don't. I remember my older brother sucking up ants with the straw!!! Haha. The 70's ruled as a child. Simpler times, indeed. We didn't have Internet, but we made up our own games, hence sucking up ants with our zippity do da straws.

I host 70s Saturday Night on the Internet and look for audio from old commercials to run. I found the video on YouTube, it starts at 1:34. Go to YouTube and type in this title: 1960s to 1970s Commercials Little Debbie to Dentyne - YouTube

I remember those things. They were great. They were called Sipity Doo Da. Purple was good to the very last slurple.
Sexygrand - July 11, 2013 - Report this comment
I loved those as a kid. I remember running to our country store and buying these throughout the summer. The sippity do da's paved the way for the Hi C and squeezits that kids enjoy today. I also remember the commercial that went like this--A sippity do da looks kinda floppy. You can hold it in your hand, it goes squishy and squashy. After you've squeezed it, squashed it and flipped it; stick a straw in your sippity do da and sip it. You can get it in strawberry, orange or grape. Whether its red or orange or purple, a sippity do da is good to the very last slurp!

Same here I thought it was something I imagined because nobody I know now remembers them and it had to be in 74 or 75 because I remember drinking them when we lived in north Hollywood we moved to las vegas at the end of 75 and I don't remember drinking them here.

I remember them! I think it was sippity do da's. I remember them in lime also, that was my favorite. It was easy to overpunch them with the straw though!

So happy someone else remembers these! They remind me of playing outside in the summer. So much better than juice bags today! Now if anyone remembers the chicken drumstick crackers....Dixie sticks?
Buffy - July 01, 2014 - Report this comment
I loved those!!! You had to be careful when you poked the straw through or it would end up coming out the other side. Out of my three siblings only one remembers buying them at the local corner store.

I remember those commercials and thought I had just imagined it until now. My sister and I had serious saturday morning envy over those commercials but like many of the products, they never came out with a store brand version, so our longing went unrequited.
