This beverage concentrate was used throughout the sixties as well. It was one of my favorites!

Zarex will be returning this Spring (2010) I just read an article in the Boston Herald that a couple of fans of the drink mix just purchased it from the original maker. They will be reintroducing it in time for Summer.

ZaRex is available by mail order...but...the supermarkets are not ordering it.My aunt works at a big food store and the man who orders the groseries said that until enough people ask for it the main company are not going to get it. My DAD said it was great(especially grape..yum) and he can't wait to buy some and let me taste it. I love my DAD,and if he loves ZaRex, I am sure I love ZaRex too!! And he told me that it tastes good on shaved ice in a cup(he calls them "snowcones")I can't wait to try them, he says they're better than slush puppies because the syrup(ZaRex)is all natural(Dad told me rasberries are not blue but they are red,my DAD is so smart). I love my mom too, and she says that we are going to try Lime Rickies(whatever they are, she keeps rolling her eyes and saying "yum, I can't wait!!"). So please help us get ZaRex in all the stores so it won't be so expennsive by mail order, and we can have it more often, because I want to say "YUM" like my mom and DAD used to. Please give them good memories back again. Ask the grocery guy(or lady)at your local grocerie store that "WE WANT ZAREX!!!" I love my sister too. Do you think my dog will like it? I do not love my brother because he is mean(he will get no ZaRex)! Z A R E X I S A W E S O M E ! ! ! (that is what DAD says)

In the early 1970s my dad was in the advertising business in Boston, MA. He would often use my siblings and I in various advertisements. When I was in Kindergarten (1972 I think) I was cast in a TV commercial for Zarex. I must have drank 10 gallons of the stuff. By the time we finished I could barely muster a smile for the camera. I don't remember too much about the commercial. I believe it only aired locally and it was promoting a chance o win a free trip to the recently opened Disney World. I haven't see the commercial since it originally aired. I'm hoping it will show up on YouTube someday. On a side note...a previous poster said he found Zarex in Ashland, MA, which is where I now live. I'm going to have to get some for the kids!

'Memba the commercial? "Zarex the Zebra is zippin' around, and everbody's singin' the Zarex song- Oh Zarex is zippy, Zarex is zappy, Zarex'll make your whole mouth happy!" Man, I wish I had room in my brain for important information!

I just got my shipment where I now live in PA. I AM SOOOOOOOOO GLAD I HAVE ZAREX AGAIN!!! I found it online out of desperation one day a few weeks ago when I was so thirsty after a day of yard work, I went online hoping to find just one bottle anywhere. Since we never had Zarex in PA, it had been 20 years since I had a glass... and I STILL talk about how much I missed it. I learned it is BACK and ordered 8 bottles. When they're gone, I'll re-order. ALL IS RIGHT WITH THE UNIVERSE AGAIN!

To the poster that asked about googly grape. The company that made that was Funny Face. Those were powdered drink mixes

I had a short story published in the Zarex magazine when I was 9, in 1970. I'm wondering if anyone else got the Zarex magazine, and if a copy existed anywhere? @Patrick maybe your Dad would know?

Hey Patrick, I was in the commercial with you! So was my Dad. I think he and your Dad were friends or at least they knew each other. Your Dad was really nice, but there was another man who came and yelled at us about not smiling enough (prob from drinking too much of it) and he said that we were drinking the wrong color.

Is anyone still making Zarex? I'd like to order some for a 70s nostalgia pool party -- for snow cones.
