Amen. Loved Truade as a kid. In my mind. I can still taste it and imagine the feel of the bottle in my hand- clear glass bottle with unique dimples in the glass. Be willing to buy stock in it if it ever came back on the market again.

I found a company in ClearBrook Va. that owns the name, but no info if they are bringing it back. They may use the name in a sports drink.

The Tru-Ade Company operated in Elgin, Illinois in the 1960s and the 1950s. In addition to the orange flavor, they also had a grape flavor. My mother was secretary to the president. She worked there when I was in grade school and junior high school. I don't really rmember when she left the company, but it was probably in the mid 1960s. It was the corporate office, no bottling done there. It was upstairs over a sporting goods store called Sportsman's Lodge. Eventually, late 1960s the building was torn down to make way for the new city hall and a parking lot. I'd lost track of the company by then.

TruAde is available in southern NC mountains, VA border counties, down east NC, upstate SC, and PeeDee region of SC. BiLo, Ingles, Lowes Foods, and Piggly Wiggly stock all the TruAde flavors. For some strange reason, Food Lion and Walmart do not.

I grew up in Brunswick County, Virgina-- south central part of the state about 30 miles north of North Carolina in the late 50's and 60's. We frequented a little country store there that had both orange Tru-Aid and, for a limited time, a grapefruit Tru-Aid, both non-carbonated. They were both great with honey buns and peanuts!! I am now 62 and still remember those flavors.

True Adela's a favorite drink of mine as wellas my siblings and parents. we used to order it on the trains in the diner. It was the highlight of our train trip. My parents kept cases of orange and grape to serve on special occasions. Would like to have it return to Georgia.

I was just in the Carolinas last month, and I would have looked for Tru-Ade if I had known! My Dad would buy me Tru-Ade at Frenchy's on Delaware Avenue in Albany, N.Y. in the mid-1960s. At some point, maybe around 1967, it was no longer available, and I would get 7-up instead. Then, in 1977, I was assigned to barracks at the Norfolk Naval Station where Tru-Ade was in the vending machines! I would drink it all the time, but then never saw it again.

My father, born in Danville, Va.,in 1929, could never drink carbonated soda like Coke and Pepsi. He said they "burned" his mouth too much. Every family picnic we took in the '60's had to include Tru-Ades and Brownie soft drinks. If I had a Brownie, a Grapette, and Tru- Ade now, I could die happy !!!
