A bar similar to rum n' butter, with the little squares that you could break apart, but each square was filled with a different flavoured gooey center.

I have been fruitless searching for Treasures bar for years. I remember them well. 6 sections all different. Caramel, chocolate, cherry cream, vanilla cream, turkish delight and I can't remember the other. Loved those little bars.

Yes!!! I have tried to explain these bars to my husband, sister, friends....no one remembers them but they were my absolute favorite! Thanx for showing me that I was not imagining that special treat:) (how about Cuban Lunch, another good one)

I remember these as well everyone I try to explain it to, they think I am nuts! Also, the wigwag bar!

Why to companies take something like the treasure bar and Cuban Lunch and stop producing them when they were so popular? It doesn't make sense! I look for those 2 bars! Now I know they just aren't made anymore. What a shame!!
Glenn in Winnipeg - January 26, 2011 - Report this comment
My mother's favorite chocolate bar when I was a kid. I remember they changed it once and some of the "chocolates" became a different flavor. I'll upload a label also so people like poolabear can prove they're not nuts!

The wigwag bar is also called a curly wurly and can be bought no on line from http://www.danscandystand.com I have an email in to him about the treasures bars as I loved them too, and about the old rum and butter chocolate bars.

I loved thos bars, too! I live in the UK now, but every time I go back to Canada I look for Treasures and Rum 'n' Butter. I loved those. I was also fond of Charleston bars. Anyone remember them? They're not as good as the first two mentioned, but just something else that disappeared.

Rum and Butter..and Treasures...obviously the best chocolate bars EVER...or else what 22+ years later we wouldn't still be longing for them :(

There are so many chocolate bars our there now. Yet when I stand at the candy rack at the cash register I find myself looking for bars that have not graced those racks since I was a child.

This site is sure bringing back a lot of sweet memories for me. The big bar of MacKintosh toffee was my earliest favourite. Then it was Neilson's Chunks, three big chunks of delicious milk chocolate in a package. Later on I saw a new bar in the stores - Neilson's Coffee Ripple. Way better than Coffee Crisp. I never really got into Neilson's Treasures, but my sisters liked them. I think Nestle or Cadbury or whoever owns the Neilson candy bar line is really missing out on a great opportunity here. They would do very well for themselves if they would put the old Neilson line back into production and sell them online. They wouldn't have all the costs associated with putting them into stores. We would pay for the shipping. I think most of us wouldn't even mind paying a bit more just to get a taste of our childhood back. Just as an aside, we had a Neilson's map in our schoolroom when I was a kid. Way down in the south Atlantic Ocean they had a picture of 3 Neilson bars, Jersy Milk, Malted Milk and Crispy Crunch. I always wanted to sail to the island of Crispy Crunch.

I forgot about the Jersey Milk Treasures chocolate bar until I overheard a woman in a grocery store talking about it. It sure brought back great childhood memories. She couldn't remember the name but we sure remembered how it tasted and how it was fun to break the pieces apart. I then described it to my friend, and like me, she remembered it clearly and enthusiasticcally, but we had to search the internet to find the name. Strange how three people, Bonnie, Joe and I, have searched this site within the last 2 weeks, all reminicing about the same delicious chocolate bar. It was delicious and fun to share. Bring them back Neilson's! Rum and Butter too!!!

Another one was the Nutmilk....similar to Jersey Milk but with peanuts. So simple, but so delicious! With that and the cuban lunch gone the way of the dodo bird, there are no chocolate bars that are just chocolate and peanuts! What gives with that??

I don't know why I have been thinking so much about the Treasures chocolate bar lately. It was my absolute favourite growing up. I truly wish they would bring them back because by the comments posted here there are a lot more people out there that enjoyed them so much as well.

I loved this bar... must mostly the turkish delight square. In fact, I mostly bought the bar for that one square. The equivalent to winning the lotter for a 10 year old was the day I bought a treasures bar and EVERY square was turkish delight. It was an accident at the plant I guess. I never found another one like it, but it was such a good day for me!

I'm telling I love this bar from when I was maybe 4 yo. It's a running joke in the house. My spouse will ask if I need anything while out. I always say. Yeah a treasure bar! Sadly I'm always disappointed.

I remember the treasure bar and they also had a bar called the virgina bar that was a jersey milk with peanuts. If I recall correctly the four flavor bar was dark chocolate.

I absolutely loved Treasures! Also loved the Danish bar. No chocolate in it...just a nice crunchy cream-filled cookie centre with cinnamon and a yogurty coating. Turkish Delight was also a fave. Someone mentioned the MacIntosh toffee ... I saw some in a couple of stores recently. Were they always still available, or have they just started bringing them back?

Loved them as a kid. I would freeze them so it would last a bit longer. What a great idea someone had, giving us our own private box of chocolates. Yes my own. I wouldn't share this one.

I mentioned this chocolate bar to my husband awhile ago, he also remembers it very well. I remember it was shared with family / friends. So many flavors in one chocolate bar! I know many who would love to have this one back!

I too would love to see the return of the Treasures..maybe we could petition Neilson's. Might as well dream big and wish for the return of Playbox cookies and Iced Gems as well. While we are at it, how about those elastic powered plastic airplanes for a dime which you'll find next to the waxed lips or the three for a penny black ball candies (my childhood friend Bill Good bought $5 worth at lunchtime and then "scattered" in the playground to the delight of 200 or so masonville pupils!)

Treasures bar. CARMEL, CHOCOLATE CREAM, CHERRY CREAM, VANILLA CREAM, TURKISH DELIGHT (which seemed like a type of red jelly) and BORDEAUX was the sixth flavored filling. Kind of like a butterscotch kind of cream.

Anybody remember YORK, black chocolate bar? Caravan? The caramel vanilla bar by Lowney's? Coffee Ripple indeed and the wonderful Bar Six? Treasures was phenomenal and also something happened to Caramilk's caramel. Cadbury mov es it's plant and the caramel became thicker. It uses to be more liquid and buttery. Am I the only one who thinks so?

I still remember my mother enjoying the Neilson's Treasure Chest Chocolate Bar 50 years ago! She is in her 80's now and lives a great distance from me. I was thinking about her and wanted to send a few to her but too bad they don't make them anymore :(
Rob Lambert - June 22, 2017 - Report this comment
Neilson's was based in Toronto and the legacy goes back to 1907. Cadbury made similar products. Much of Neilson's candy was pirate-themed in sales displays, including small treasure chests containing individually-wrapped (gold foil) pieces.

When I was pregnant with my first child back in 89 I sent his father to the store for a for treasures chocolate bar as I hadn't had one since I was a child he couldn't find the bar said it didn't exist but I could see the wrapper so clear in my memory it was like having your own personal little box of chocolates at least now I know I'm not the only one missing it

Why did Neilsons stop making Treasure bars, four flavours, and Cuban lunch?
Chas - November 23, 2019 - Report this comment
Neilsons Treasures was my favourite all time candy. Shame they stopped making it but like a lot of things in the past it was probably a casualty of some accountants. Certainly brings back some great memories. It’s easy to get buried in the past.

Hey Mona and Debbie, I totally remember the Graham Sandwich bar and thought I was the only one that remembered them. Thought I was imagining them.
Chris - January 01, 2020 - Report this comment
I don't think the Graham Sandwich bar ever existed. Despite my girlfriend and you girls thinking this bar exists. I need to see pictures. My girlfriend is trying to prove they existed. Unless they only existed in Newfoundland for a month.

I am also looking for the Neilsons Jersey Milk Treasures. I read online that it has been bought by Cadbury but they stopped producing it. I wrote to Mondelez International to ask it they still had it or had a similar product available in Canada. I also read that the Sky Bar might be similar. I wrote to them asking if they have any in Canada so I could taste it before I buy a whole box online from them.
