Description
Cold cereal that was basically flakes, but made with a mixture of rice and oats, and some wheat. Unusually tasty and sort of puffy (which I guess was the rice part). Can't remember who made them but I still have days where I long for some. Seems like all cereals are wheat and corn these days!

I loved Team Flakes too and was distressed when they stopped making them. I think it was the rice that made them distinctive. They were made by Nabisco.

Team Flakes were the only cereal that would stay crunchy all the way to the bottom of the bowl. Trader Joe's makes a cereal that comes close but nothing will ever be as good as Team Flakes!

Bring back my Team Flakes...Please!!!

I loved Team Flakes, and I hope someday Post will bring them back. They bought out the Nabisco cereal operation several years ago, and Post decided to stop making Team Flakes. What a shame!

Team Flakes was my favorite cereal growing up. My mom introduced them to me because it was her favorite cereal. I could have eaten a whole box in one sitting if my mom would have let me. I have been searching in stores for years trying to find them. i wish that they would be brought back or someone would buy the recipe and start making them again. Nothing today compares to them.

They were my absolute favorite cereal growing up, crispy, not too sweet, good with or without milk. Wish we convince Post to bring them back on a limited basis like they did with Hydrox cookies!

I remember how Team looked and tasted, I really liked it. It had rice, corn, wheat, and oats. It is no longer made anywhere. There is a teamflakes website (you can find it by googling, I can't put the link here) but the site was created by a family so that all their family members could keep in touch. At the top of the home page the webmaster states, "WHERE CAN I BUY TEAM FLAKES? Due to the large amount of email I get asking this question, I feel it's necessary I answer it before any more emails are sent: NO ONE PRODUCES OR DISTRIBUTES TEAM FLAKES ANYMORE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. CONTRARY TO POPULAR BELIEF, THIS INCLUDES CANADA."

I do want Team flakes back also...problem is they have been gone so long, this generation (the ones who get what they want) have never heard never mind tasted team flakes..if they did, I'd bet money they would be the most popular cereal out there...only ones that could stand up to milk to the bottom of the bowl...and you go back for more..can't be the entire end of story. Just gotta convince a cereal comp to do it, just to try it again....could help the economy LOL

Oh man, I loved Team! I'd buy it all the time if it came back!

Team was GREAT cereal. They don't make any kind of cereal like that. I use to always buy that cereal. I guess I kind of figured out why I don't buy POST products. They discontinued this cereal and will not bring it back. That is a SHAME! If they ever do decide to bring it back...I would be first in line to buy it. Team flakes...crunchy to the bottom of the bowl!

Boycott Post in protest! And most importantly tell them that is why their company is going to die like it deserves to. I don't know why everyone is so lame and just takes it up the poop chute over and over. I see people still drive american cars too. Ha. Even after their last one was such a piece. I am ashamed to live in the usa with such lame people.

If enough of us would chip in... we could form a company and produce Team Flakes again... I think it's up to us to 'shame the lame' companies of today, and create new ones with the proper outlook. I am up for the challenge... call me and we'll get started: 785-409-7997.

Me and my brother used to sit there on a Friday night watching Cheers and Roseanne with a whole box of Team flakes between us and a 6 pack of coke, it was a ritual, we were looking to relive the memory this Friday but to my horror realised they have been discontinued, it's a travesty how a cereal so tasty has been removed.

I wish I had a box right now. It is 1AM! Kraft owns the rights to the name. Come on Kraft!

Team Flakes were the best. Always crunchy and flavorful. After a bowl, I'd run outside and be supercharged. Why discontinue such a great product?

Just purchased Kellogg's Special K Blueberry flavour cereal. Although much sweeter than "Team"cereal used to be, it definitely brought back memories of my favorite cereal.! Crunchy right to the bottom of the bowl, and made with wheat, corn, rice and oats. Delicious!

I'm a child of the 70's too...I miss Team Flakes and Frosted Dutch Apple Pop Tarts A LOTTTT!!! Why do the powers that be have to discontinue all of the best stuff - who makes these decisions?! So frustrating. My big brother and I used to wolf down Team w/ bananas and go out in the backyard for hours of Whiffle Ball. Those were the days...

Found an early TV commercial for Team Flakes that aired on the teen soap opera, "Never Too Young," from 6/24/66, ABC-TV This was the last "NTY" episode, for "Dark Shadows" would premiere the Monday to follow.

Team Flakes were the best cereal ever created!! My brother and I were bodybuilders and ate a lot...we would literally eat an entire box in one sitting. My mother bought them by the dozen! I couldn't understand why they stopped making them. Please bring back Team Flakes!! There is no substitute.

With out a doubt my favorite cereal of all time. Where do all the good things go. RONDO pop, Hollywood bars (frozen),etc. Everything is coming back. Why not this stuff?

Just revisited that "Never Too Young" episode with Team Flakes commercial. Tony Dow was a regular, and in the series finale, his character (Chet) was leaving for the Air Force. At least for one series, he was able to shed the Wally Cleaver persona. Team Flakes, known as the "Four-Grain Cereal," was dropped by Nabisco in 1968, due to sagging sales. Its main competition was Total (General Mills) and Product 19 by Kelloggs.

While Nabisco discontinued Team Flakes 49 years ago (in USA), the cereal was re-introduced in England in 1987. Several TV commercials were filmed...with the Flintstones! All-new animation. While a British announcer served as narrator, Henry Corden voiced Fred, Mel Blanc (two years before death) as Barney and Jean Vander Pyl as Wilma. YouTube has these.

Along with the previously mentioned Team Flake ads from the UK, also found a Post Fruity/Cocoa Pebbles TV spot with Fred Flintstone and Barney. Same cut-rate animation, British narrator, and the regular American character voice actors. In the British commercials, Fred reacts more violently when Barney eats his cereal, nearly punching him in the nose. Hilarious!

Nabisco Team Flakes had a brief revival in 1980-81. Commercial for this aired on "Password Plus" over ABC in January, 1981. Host was Bill Cullen, who replaced Allen Ludden when Ludden went for chemotherapy treatment for cancer. After hosting "Password" since 1963, Ludden never returned, succumbing to the disease in June, 1981, age 63.
