Description
It is what I believe to be the first soft bubble gum appearing around 1977 possibly a year later, as it's name implies it was menacingly sweet, and quite soft, in the years to follow Sugarloaf would be driven from the market buy Bubble Yum, and Bubblicious.

It was without a doubt the best gum ever. I used to get it only from the ice cream man, it was the only place you could find it. Would love to bring that one back.

Sugar Loaf was as popular as bubble yum or bubbliscious back in the day. Pink pack, red letters.

I'm so glad to see others who remember this gum. I'm not much of a bubble gum chewer anymore but I bought a few packs of Bubblicious the other night and began thinking and asked my husband if he remembered Hubba Bubba and then Sugarloaf came to mind....My all time favorite!!! Then I see someone else who even remembers the "pink packaging w/red letters!!! The good old days! Thanks for some fond memories......

No one can tell me who made it. It was definetly my favorite. Does anyone remember their "plum" flavor?

Milkshake candy bar and Sugarloaf gum were possibly the best mainstream candies of all time, not just the 70's. Sugarloaf was like no other gum-at the time of since. MISS YOU SUGARLOAF!!!

This gum (or a delicious predecessor) was available well before 1977. I think around 1972 or so we were having corporate sponsored (the horror!) biggest bubble contests at school.

Sugarloaf was the best! Not only were the pieces bigger, the pack came with 6 pieces if I remember right. Sugarloaf, first came around in the early 70's

Every time I go into a vintage candy store I ask them about sugarloaf gum. No one ever knows what I'm talking about. I have awesome memories of my Bonnie Bell Lip Gloss and Sugar Loaf Gum.....why can't they bring them both back? Best. Gum. Ever!

The one thing I do remember about Sugarloaf is it had 6 pieces per pack. Was better than Bubble Yum and Bubblicious.

Definitely remember Sugar Loaf!! Was only able to get it a few times as a kid since it wasn't sold locally though. Great stuff that wouldn't last a minute on the shelf in today's more health conscious climate.

I remember buying Sugarloaf in the local 7-11. They had 2 flavors that I know of, regular bubblegum flavor and grape. I believe FLEER either made or distributed the gum. All that sugar was a dentists nightmare. Or dream come true. Depending on the way you look at it! LOL!

I only had Sugarloaf a few times and I still remember how great it tasted. This was the best bubble gum. Not many people remember it but I'm glad we care enough to look for it and write our memories of it.

The good ole days 77-78 Sugar Loaf discontinued 78 before entering high school, my favorite most chewed bubble gum then went to bubble yum... Lol

So glad to know others remember this gum! I’ve asked many people over the years and no one I know seems to recall it. I thought maybe I was remembering the name wrong! Thanks for the validation :) Loved this gum! So soft and sweet. Would love to find a picture of it somewhere as my memory of the packaging has faded.
