I didn't think anyone remembered the Scrunch bar. I don't know who made it, but I wish they would start making it again. These candy bars ruled!

I have never been a candy lover, but the Scrunch Bar was a huge exception! I LOVED going to the local grocery store after school and buying several of these to eat before I got home (for dinner, of course). I was so excited when they started making Willie Wonka candy again, because I thought the Scrunch bar would be made again. Sadly, it didn't happen. Oh, to dream....

I loved Super Scrunch!! When it went away, i think they tried to replace it with Wachamacalit (sp), but no way was it the same!!

For years I have been asking anyone and everyone I knew if they remembered this candy bar which has always been my all time favorite. No-one did. They all told me that I was crazy and that it was just in my head. I am so hyped to know that I am NOT crazy. I will be making sure that everyone I ever asked knows it to! So they absolutely positively do NOT make these anymore? Maybe they just don't sell them around us anymore. If not I would like to get enough people on board to get them to make them again.

My Grandpa was an Exec at Concord Confections (aka. Willy Wonka Candies.) I remember as a child going to the factory and there was this HUGE, stainless steel bowl full of the peanut butter for Scrunch and Oompa Loompas. I always felt like Charlie growing up, I also got to eat several candies that never made it to market, I was sort of a beta tester. Does anyone remember the Neopolitan bars or Chocolate Chubbies? They also used to make different flavors of tangy taffy (chocolate, vanilla, orange cream, strawberry, banana, etc...) All the Wonka Chocolate type candies seemed to cease when they got a contract with Quaker Oats to make their first granola bars. Do you remember Crunchola? I guess Nestle wanted to keep their chocolate to their core Nestle brands. :-(

The Scrunch bar was sort of like a Hershey's 5th Avenue, or the Clark Bar... in the same family as Butterfingers...

I remember the candy bar. I would go on lunch hr from school and grab a scrunch candy bar at the dime store in the late 70's or early 80's. I wished they still made them.

Hey...try " Special K " brand Meal Replacement bars ! They have a peanut butter chocolate bar that is very close to the Scunch bar even though it`s not a candy bar. The first bite I took it reminded me of my all time favorite candy bar when I was growing up. It has the same taste and texture of the Scrunch bar !!!

I'm cracking up reading all these comments, how no one's friends seem to remember the Skrunch bar -- ha ha; none of mine do either -- what's the MATTER with them?!? It was only the BEST candy bar EVER! I remember when they went up in price from a dime to 15c -- we were outraged! I'm 45, remember them well, miss them dearly, and WISH they'd come back... the Butterfinger Crisp is definitely a close 2nd but no other bar anyone mentioned is quite the same as the yummy Skrunch bar!!! I definitely plan on trying the Special K bar, though! Anyone think it's even worth trying to get it manufactured again?? If so, I'm all in!

There is nonthing like a Skrunch bar it was the bomb. I use to sell them at my school to go on a trip to Hawaii with my band, I sold at least 200-300 boxes. Please bring them back I would pay $10.00 for at least one bare. That's how much I would like to taste one at this very momment.

OH WOW....I looked for these for years, and had friends all over the country on the lookout too! I was so sad to realize that I would never have another Willie Wonka Super Scrunch Bar because they're no longer made.

I worked at Concorde Confections in Afton, MO, until just before my first child was born in 1973. I worked on the bar line packaging Scrunch Bars, and packed Oompas for shipping. They were SO good. It was hard to convince the cast of the Jr College production of Willy Wonka tonight that indeed there WAS a Willy Wonka brand, but I DO remember.
