These were one of the highlights of childhood. I would love for Sara Lee to reintroduce them.
Oh, yeah! I remember the frozen cupcakes! Also, there were frozen crumb cakes, maybe also by Sara Lee. I remember the chocolate-chip walnut ones that you baked and ate warm (and were awesome).

Don't think they are made anymore but I LOVED these! As a little kid my grandmother always had these in her freezer for me and gawd I couldn't wait to get at them.

I remember Sara Lee refrigerated Frosted Brownies. They came in a cardboard covered aluminum foil tray. So good cold.
I loved the frosted brownies. I would them to be reintroduced.
my brother and i used to fight over who would get which frosting flavors... we eventually figured out an order: day 1: i eat vanilla, brother eats light chocolate day 2: i eat coconut, brother eats dark chocolate day 3: i eat strawberry, brother eats weird fruity flavor (but then again, i gave him both chocolates, so we were even).
Oh gosh I loved these too! They were such a special treat when we went grocery shopping on Saturdays. I would wait all day until I got to choose my cupcake after dinner. The variety really made these special. Wish they'd bring them back!!!

Okay... I'm not crazy. I thought I was the only one who remembered those. 3 for me and 3 for my brother. That was all well and good until my sister was born! I miss those cupcakes!
those frozen cupcakes were the best ever.no other cupcake has even came close.my grandmother would always buy two packs.i usually ate one by my self.lets start a petition and send it to sara lee.im serious lets do it
OMG!!!I can taste those cupcakes right now. I was going to contact Sara Lee to see what's up. I think we should definitely start a petition to bring them back. They are the perfect sugar fix!! I always had to sneak them from my friends fridge since my mom would never buy what she called "junk". She was soooo misguided.

We loved them! No one ever wanted to eat the lemon! I usually went for the Strawberry first. There was another variety they made with all light-browns and dark chocolate and a vanilla or two. Does anyone remember them?
We loved these frozen cupcakes. My Son, who is 40 now asked me what happened to them. They were the best, better than the gourmet cupcakes. The variety of six was great. The size was so much bigger than cupcakes now. Bring them back please.

You would think that with this big cupcake craze they would bring those great cupcakes back. They were the best ever. Vanilla, Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, Strawberry, Orange, Coconut. Please someone from Sara Lee take note of this.
These cupcakes were the best!!! I wonder if you got enough people to email Sara Lee if they would bring them back. I would buy the store out every week. You couldn't get better.

and I thought googling sara lee frozen frosted cupcakes would lead me no where!!!! lol! I remember opening the box on the way home from the store and getting the chocolate one before my brother could! Fun memories!!!
Loved these in the 70's. My elementary school brought these out for special events/occasions. I have never forgotten them.
I saw a commercial last night with a pink iced cupcake. It immediately brought these cupcakes to mind. Oh they were sooooo good. Sara Lee with the interest these days in cupcakes bring these back!!!
PLEASE BRING THEM BACK! It was such fun to decide who got which cupcake -- sometimes we'd cut them in half so each member of the family could get a mix of flavors.
I loved the Sara Lee frozen cupcakes in the 70's, awesome. I emailed Sara Lee a few months ago suggesting they bring them back since cupcakes are so popular now. I got a canned response: "This item is no longer in stock". No kidding!

These were better than opening a box of Dunkin Donuts. They were so pretty with the perfectly iced tops in the pastel colors. PLEASE PLEASE Bring them back!!!!
Was just talking about these with my Mom. The best cupcakes ever!!! I thought maybe they just stopped selling them here, but it looks like they just stopped. Why?? they were the best cupcakes I've ever had. So sad my son will never know what they taste like. They should bring them back. Cupcake stores are opening all over the place, now would be the perfect time for them to start making them again. Well, a girl can dream.....

I CAN'T BELIEVE I FINALLY FOUND PEOPLE WHO REMEMBER THESE CUPCAKES. THEY WERE THE BEST CAKE AND FROSTING EVER. I WISH I HAD THE RECIPE. I ACTUALLY THOUGHT SOME COMPANY THREATENED SARA LEE NOT TO MAKE THEM ANYMORE OR THEY WOULD PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS.
We always had these in our freezer too. I had two brothers and they were older than I was so I got what they didn't want most likely, but who knows, maybe I got what I wanted because I was the only girl. lol I just distinctly remember the packaging and the colorful and different frostings and the coconut and the pink one and the lemon and chocolate one. Good times!
I loved these cupcakes growing up. they were the BEST. i felt bad tonight because my 7 and 9 yr old had me buy them horrible fake-tasting preservative-y hostess cupcakes at the store just now and its a shame that they will never know the sara lee ones and how amazing they were! i miss morton's honey buns and bavarian cream donuts too....

My mom would buy these when I was little with a cup of Canada Dry Ginger Ale in the green glass bottles. I wish the would bring them back!
They were my family's favorite! We had a system for dividing them up. Nobody liked coconut except my Dad, so he got that one. I didn't like strawberry, so my brother usually took that. I usually took vanilla or chocolate, or sometimes half of each. Lemon was the wildcard - anyone could take it. I'd always eat the cake first, then the frosting. I miss them so much. I still scan the grocery store freezer hoping to find them!
We are a family of 6, so growing up we each had our particular favorite. We tried switching them around, but that never worked well! ;)

There has never been a cupcake made that can compare with the Sara Lee frozen ones !!! I can not imagine why they stopped making them but reading these comments, they would make a lot of people happy by bringing them back.

Absolutely loved these as a kid. My Dad used to be these and the frozen jelly donuts and honey buns. He was a real sweet eater. The only other cupcakes I loved were the Entemann's holiday cupcakes. They were the bomb.
They should definitely bring these back. My favorite was the coconut cupcakes. I loved it when my mom bought these.
FYI, these cupcakes were made by Stouffer's, not Sara Lee. They were my favorite growing up. Would love to see them again.

WHY in Heavens name doesn't Sara Lee start making the frosted bro we mies again. I remember as a kid my Mom used to put these in the rear of the refrigerator got them ice cold, then we'd have cold milk with them OMG! was to Die for! They had the cardboard top in the aluminum tray Mom would cut big squares of them they were like FUDGE only better U think U died & went to Heaven Sara Lee start making good them again with original ingredients PLEASE!!!!!

These are a fond memory. I suppose a marketing exec. would say they are too expensive to produce today. I think people would be willing to pay half again what their pound cake costs. These were so tasty,convienent and great for company as well!
Yes!! Such fond memories of those cupcakes. When frozen, the icing was like a flavored fudge!! Nothing anywhere compares to them anymore. Same with Swanson Chicken Noodle TV dinner with corn and chocolate cake. Loved mixing the corn with the noodles. They discontinue everything good from my childhood. 😔
I don't remember the cupcakes, but the old Sara Lee single-layer cakes (around 8"x10") were *the best*, in particular the chocolate and yellow, both with dark chocolate frosting. Unfortunately, they disappeared around 1983-84 after being around for at least 25 years prior, and were replaced for a while by a far inferior multi-layer "version" with light chocolate frosting. Still miss those single-layers so much.
I have fond memories of these Stouffer cupcakes too! My grandmother always kept a box or two in the freezer and even as a child I remember thinking they were better than any homemade version I had ever tasted. The coconut one was my favorite. I loved to eat it with a scoop of coffee ice cream on the side. Yum! If they brought them back they would be wildly popular!
