Description
It was like a mint flavored M&M's candies in a green bag. Coating was colored in green and white. Inside of coated candy was mint chocolate. Tasted so good. M&M's Mars did made Mint flavors once a year during Christmas season. Royal Mint is more intense than M&M Mars. It was available between 1984 through 1990 in USA. I bought those often until they stopped. It was made from Canada. They stopped shipping this candy due to import tax issue.

I used to LOOOOVE this candy! I was so young when I ate them that I didn't realize they were m&m's..I always thought they were called "Royals"

Loved these! Royals are my strongest childhood candy memory. I remember shopping with my mom in a department store where we weren't supposed to have candy, but I had the bag of Royals in my jacket pocket and kept ducking behind clothing racks to slip them into my mouth. Nothing compares to my memory of these, and the mint M&Ms that come out once a year don't even come close.

"Have you heard what's happened to chocolate? Chocolate's got a whisper of mint! Chocolate's been a lot more exciting, since it got a little whisper of mint!"

I absolutely loved Royals too. I thought maybe I was the only one who ate them. I remember going to a greenhouse with my babysitter and I was eating a bag of Royals. They were the best. I wish they would bring them back!

I have been trying to find someone for years who remembered these, but I know I was eating them prior to 1984, like late 70s early 80s. Instead of an M on each one, the M was shaped at the bottom into a crown. You're right, no mint chocolate candy they've made since has come close.

As the M&M royals began to disappear from stores, my 13 year old son and I hoarded as many as we could afford. He rationed them to himself ( and to a few select friends) till they were dry and crispy and then he kept the labels in the container where they had been. BRING THEM BACK for his kids now.

It was the early 80s and I loved them, I would walk to the store in rain or snow to buy a bag. Why wont they bring them back?

Tbanks for the memories, i thought i was the only one..... there needs to be a Royal uprising to bring them back. I was a young guy growing up in minnesota and i remember the crown on the candies. I have always ask people if they rememberred the candy and for years i have gotten blank stares. So thanks for bringing me back to the days of Royals

I've been asking people for years if they remembered Royals, I thought I was alone as well! They were definitely in the US as early as around the late 70's. I totally wish they would make these again, nothing has come close to how great these were!

I looooved royals as a kid. Now when I talk about them people have blank stares or they think I am talking about the caramel candy called royals. I have not had anything better in my life and I really need them back so I can have a smile on my face once again.

I loved these and completely forgot about them until this weekend when I saw mint M&Ms. I couldn't remember the name and anyone I ask has no idea what I'm talking about. I tried the mint M&Ms and they're ok but not like Royals!

YES!!! God I loved M&M Royals....I'm so glad to finally find people who remember them....I always get blank stares, too, when I mention them. they were like buttons of Marshall Field's Frango mints with an M&M shell. So smooooooth, with just the right amount of mint. Weren't they two colors of green? A light green, and a medium green. I can't remember if there were brown ones or not...I think maybe not.

I have one rather vivid memory of eating Royals. We were on family camping trip. I couldn't have been much older than 7 or 8. It was the last morning of our trip and my parents were taking down the tent and packing the car. I had had some Rice Krispies for breakfast but I was still hungry. I grabbed a big bag of Royals out of the food box an ate like half the bag. I remember looking at the little crowns on the candies in my hand and telling my mom I didn't feel very good and she handed me a pot and I vomited in it. Half a bag of Royals does not make a very good breakfast. lol! I wonder why they don't bring them back!?

When I think about the good things that used to be, the first thing that comes to mind is Mint Royals. Nothing else can hold a candle to them!

M&Ms has come out with a Mint dark chocolate M&M that is pretty good. Not as good as Royals -- but pretty darn good!

Loved Royals. I used to eat those and drink Tab...I just ate the Dark Chocolate Mint M&M's and they are pretty close...but the chocolate is just not as smooth. I guess I'll just hold on to the Royals memory while I eat the re-make.

They were wonderful! They were pale green and dark brown with a corresponding crown stamped instead of the "m". I loved them. Couldn't get them in CA. My uncle in NY used to mail them to me and I sent him Carnation malted. He couldn't get that in NY! Love that memory...bring back my M&M Royals!!!

We would only find these in Pennsylvania - not in California where we lived. Were they only available on the east coast?

I remember eating these when I was a kid but I didn't think they were m&M's. They were in a brown bag and they were dark brown and a mint green color. I don't know can't find anything about any other candy like this.

In the early 70's, Royals came in a box. I loved the Mint and the Cherry. I found them in a liquor store, which may have been the only store that carried them in my area of New Jersey. I never saw bags in the 80's.

I remember Royals but think they were from the late 1960’s. I remember them as being in the standard brown M&M’s bag and the shells were browns and green. Then years later, before Mint M&M’s were made, I wrote the company and BEGGED them to bring them back. I never heard back from them but then years after that Mint M&M’s were introduced.
