these were my favorite Doritos! Remember when they first came out and you'd get balls of seasoning in the bottom of the bag?? That was like an intensely salty bonus!

the doritos they have out now that have 2 flavors in one bag have "zesty taco" and chipotle.the zesty taco is im almost certain the same exact flavor.we used to get to share a whole bag-my brother and i-every friday while we watched the brady bunch nanny and the professor planet of the apes and KOLESHACK THE NIGHTSTALKER.THOSE WERE THE BEST TIMES EVER.

The 2 flavor ones are close but not like they used to be in the 70's. The Taco bell ones they came out with were horrible. Bring back the originals!

But they only had them for a week, then they disappeared again. This was just 4 months ago. And they were the only flavor in the bag, not a dual flavored bag!

I saw a bag that said "taco" the other day but I don't know if they were the original ones or not. Those were my absolute favorite!! Has anyone found them anywhere?

I tried the two flavor bag and it is the orginal flavor i was glad to see them they had them here in oklahoma thought it was only a month or so ago I hope they keep them they were So good!

They sell Taco Doritos at all the stores in my area. Does anybody remember the Jumpin Jack Cheese Doritos? They were AWESOME!!! Unfortunately, they pulled them because they had too much MSG in them, and it made people (myself included) have severe headaches.

They have the new "Late Night Taco" flavor in the black bag and they are nasty!! Way too much chili powder or cumin. I actually preferred the Taco Bell ones, but would love to get some of the original taco flavored ones from back in the day. I actually find myself buying the nacho cheese flavor these days. But it's just NOT the same!!

Doritos will never ever be able to bring back the original flavor of the late 70's early 80's Taco style Doritos. They used different oils then. I challenge them to do so.If so I'd pay up to 8.00 a bag ... Same with the Hostess Twinkies that I remember back in the 70's...the creme was so much better and sweeter tasting.

I thought I was the only one who rememberd the great taco doritos of the 70`s. Tried all the taco,taco supreme, taco this and taco that but they don`t compare. I tell my friends about it and they just say...they still have taco. Sorry, but nobody believes me. Guess I`am too old. Loved the bottom of the bag too. Anybody else?

Those taco doritos were great! The bag with 2 flavors is not the same. Does anyone remember fritos cheese, not chill and cheese corn chips? The comedian with the big black mustache pushed them on T.V, with a big wheel of cheese.

back in the early 70's i use to scrounge up enough change around the house to buy ( i think they cost $69 or $89 cents or something back them )a bag of cheese doritos . The taste was amazing . I would sit on the central air unit in my backyard on hot summer days downing a whole bag . The taste of nacho cheese doritos today don't even come close to the ones back in the 70's and early 80's.

I just want to say that I loved Taco flavored Doritos back in the 70s and 80s too. I have bought the other taco doritos and they are not the same. I'm contacting the company and asking them to bring those back! Should we sign a petition? haha

I wrote to Frito Lay to ask about the Taco Flavored Doritos and you all will be happy to know they will be making a brief comeback in the next month or so!! they told me to look for them in their 'throwback packaging'!!!A month or so!!!!

This must be a 40 something site. I've been telling kids about them and get all gecked up to find them. We will be keeping an eye out for them in the next month.

Just got my bag or retro packaged "limited edition" taco flavored Dorito's from QFC (also at Safeway and Fred Meyer). Same great retro look and taste. Apparently these are only available until Feb. 6th 2011 so get them while they last.

When I called frito lay my understanding was the bag was a limited edition but the doritos were here to stay.Any thoughts?

Just had a bag today, a small size bag, it say's on the back comming soon! woo hoo! yes, all of us who grew up in the 70s no these were the best chips ever!

I contacted Frito Lay a few weeks ago 12-30-10. They stated the Taco chips would be comming back in a "Throw back bag" and would be in stores in a month or so. I have looked EVERYWHERE.. Target,Walgreen's, rite aid, walmart etc..I talked to a Rep in a store last Monday (1-3-10) He said try Albertsons. I did. No Chips..I finally decided to try Food 4 Less. I entered the store, went to the chip Isle, Looked High and low..There they were. I found um. Ate half the bag on the way home. BTW the Rep said they will be a permanent item, only in a different bag, but could not tell me if the taste was the same as yesteryear..

My memory of the 70's was sharing a bag of TFDs and a Shasta strawberry soda with my sister. I am on my second bag of the limited edition. They are very good, but different. In the past, the seasonings were more gritty and not so evenly distributed so some of the chips were extra "taco-y."

Just bought a bag this morning... had some for breakfast!! Believe it or not I have dreamt about these original taco Doritos for years and now... they're back! WOO HOO!!! I dont care what the packaging looks like in a few weeks as long as I can still get them :-)

Hey Speedy thanks for the info..Yes I like the old style bags. Just the bag alone brings back great old vivid memories. Nice to know they will be changing bag styles, I will look for them in the newer style bag, that might be easy to miss, because I hear the bag will look similar to the Nacho cheese bag, with the bag being red etc. But Yes I hope the chips are the same. I assume they will leave the recipe alone though. I scored a bag yesterday, and they are soo good. Thanks Doritos for bringing them back..(Finally)

They had these in our local Sam's Club in the retro throwback bag. These are indeed the original Taco flavored Doritos the way I remember them. Not the Taco Bell Taco, not the Taco formerly known as Taco Bell Taco, not the modified iterations of Taco since then or tacos after Midnight, but genuine original Taco Doritos. Bought two bags right away as Sam's had them in a buy two bags for one special price sale. One is gone already. Best chips with sandwiches ever! And glad to know they are back for good!

My big bag of Limited Edition Taco Doritos has a pic of the new packaging that is coming soon!! Found a small rogue bag at the Kangaroo store last Sat. Snatched them up and now my kids are hooked. Got this big bag at Winn-Dixie. I love these darned things!

I have tried for years to make my own only to end up frustrated.I think there the best there ever has been.I went to Albertsons last night and my deams came true there they were i had to look twice ,even the same bag i remember.I truly hope that fritolay listens to us and keeps them around for good this time .This was a great 41st birthday present.

Doritos have come back out with the original Taco flavored Doritos. Atleast in the Detroit area. Probably available all over. I have already had some and they taste just as good as they did n the early 80s

im buying hundreds my waldbaums markets on long island on sale this week, folks,when i saw them on shelf i bought them all ,tried 1 right there in the store, had to authenticate!!!happy as a pig in %^#&*!!

Found the retro Taco Doritos and won't open the bag until I find a bottle of Mothers Pride rootbeer! Used to eat a whole bag with a bottle of Mothers Pride and their bottles were pretty big! Not bad for a 60 pound, 10 year old. And tell Chiquita to put the NFL helmet stickers back on the bananas!

I am STOKED they brought back the Taco flavor. I found Coke in a bottle too so now, once in a while, I enjoy taco doritos and coke in a bottle. It takes me back to my youth! Now all I need is the sun! haha THANK YOU DORITOS!

these taco doritos are not the same at all. they never had sour cream taste to them! the taco flavor you could almost taste taco meat! these are not the same at all!
