This may have been a Texas item?? Nehi grape, orange and strawberry sodas. Ride your bike w/ the banana seats and forked wheels up to the store--save the bottles for bottle return money!

Not just a TX item, we had them in Missouri and Kansas too - I just loved the grape Nehi - there's no soda like it today with the super sweet grape flavor. We used to buy them in bottles out of my grandpa's soda machine at his pool hall and always got in trouble if we didn't put the empties back int the wooden rack so he could return for them for the money.
Nehi sodas came in quite a few flavors, we would buy it at Jack's Market in Corbin, KY...the best little store for penny candies and all the kids' favorites...anyway, my favorite was Lemon Nehi...just like the sweetest homemade lemonade you could get...very pale in color.
Memories of summer vacations and my favorite peach nehi. I live in florida can't find nehi any where. I do get lucky in Tennessee every summer I find my good old peach nehi. I bought a six pack for my dad for Christmas. I can't to see his smile.
We had nehi in louisiana too. When my mom drove us to town me, my sister & brother & all our cousins & aunts would get a big family box of chicken & stop at the corner store & get everyone a 25c nehi. I loved the blue, but I can't find 'em anywhere anymore (not even the internet).
I don't think they make BLUE anymore. It was favorite, also, and I have searched high and low and can't find it. If anyone sees BLUE, please email me at nacbrandy@earthlink.net

as a small boy in lorain ohio i worked sweeping the floor and taking out the trash for a small bottling company that bottled nehi sodas and i dont know what else, that was located in an alley between 14th and 15th street.
ive often wondered what ever happened to this brand and in doing this research am happy to find out that it is actually still around, unfortunataly not locally but at least now i know where to find it when i tarvel
Nehi sodas are so much a part of my childhood as was my mother's cooking. Nehi sodas of just about all flavors can be found in Daytona Beach, FL at all Winn-Dixies. I have to say Nehi-Strawberry was my all time favorite, I love peach, but the strawberry did it for me
We had them in Maryland.... Ride up to the service station on the old bike and drop a quarter for a grape nehi on a hot summer day what a great memory
i have never had one for myself untill today. i have heard of them and was told how great they are but never did i taste one. but i have to say they are amazing, untill they go flat :)

Strawberry Nehi. Some Nehi flavors are available at Pops in Arcadia, Oklahoma...Sadly no strawberry. :(

Yes I remember the NEHI song, too and I also live in the NY/NJ area. I can still here it in my head and see parts of the commercial. It went NEHI HI HE HE HE HE HE HE HE HI HI HE HE HE HE HE HE AH AH E E E E E NE HI HI, kind of hard to type it out but I can sing it :0)
My favorites were orange and grape. The only problem was it would lose it's fizz very quickly.

Peach Nehi is the best! When I'd visit my grandma in Vernal Utah they had it there and I recently found it on the Internet @ Sodafinder.com and Vermont Country Store plus Hard to Find Grocer.
