Description
This was a kids' cereal - round chocolate-y puffs with vanilla frosting inside. YUM!! The character that hawked it was this hyper superhero-like dude. He would say, "It's Mr. wonderful.. SURPRISE!!!!!"

this was the world's greatest cereal...i am 41 years old and had a dream about this great stuff the other night and awoke remembering the joys of the web, and have found several fun links to this fabulous 70's childhood memory!

I had been collecting just Cocoa Puffs cereal Premiums since I was a Kid.... I came across the box the other day and opened it to check it out... And to my "Suprise" there were 2 cereal premiums from Mr Wonderfull's Surprise. One I remember it is a Green capsule with his face on either side ...the other is a 3D puzzle. Good Stuff...;)

it wasnt frosting inside-it was solid chocolate that filled about a third of the "barrel" for lack of a better word. those were the days when parents didnt worry about too much sugar.the 70's rocked!

I am 42 and I remember a vanilla ball with vanilla frosting inside...I was telling my kids about it but can't remember the name! Those were the days my friend. Good times.

Turn 42 in May. It has been in my dreams for many years as well. Nobody could remember it except me. Thanks to Google and all of your comments - I know that I am not crazy. I loved this cereal. I even remember the ruler that came with it.

I also remember the cereal. It was chocolate inside. I would love to have the cereal again. I'm 47 now, but I'd eat it as dessert!

This cereal was awesome. I recall it was discontinued because the extremely high sugar content was rotting kid's teeth.

I am sure this cereal contributed to all my cavities when I was a kid, but it sure tasted great. I would eat it as a snack (straight out of the box) while listening to my ABBA 45 records.

I was 24 when it came out in the 70s and it was the best cereal ever! Mr. Wonderful's Surprise. Little squares like Chex cereal with filling like you'd find in an oreo. Why do they always get rid of the good cereals????

It was the absolute best and everyone thinks I'm crazy because I tell them it existed! The chocolate filled ones were my favorites. I'm 47 now. Wish we could go back even for a day and have it again. Second fave was Freakies. They didn't taste all that great but the magnets rocked! Cowmumble was the best one.

Best Cereal EVER!! Crispy little puffs filled with soft icing! Add the milk and it was a kid's heaven. Would love to have a few boxes of it now to share with my kids and show them how amazing cereals were in "the good old days." What a great way to spend a weekend...Mr. Wonderfull's Suprize, some great old cartoons, then a jog around the block to run off the sugar high!

I loved Mr. Wonderful Surprise. If I rememeber correctly, they had both chocolate and strawberry, but I begged for the chocolate. I would eat three bowls for breakfast (and I was an extremely finicky eater as a child). I don't remember the ruler, but I collected enough red, white and blue whistles to outfit a marching band. Yum. Great memories.

Hey guys, try the new Kellogs Krave it's almost like Mr. Wonderful's Surprise. No vanilla but chocolate and double chocolate. Not quite as creame filled but still pretty good. It took me back 40 some years.

Well...it has been 5 years since my last post on this thread. I purchased Kelloges Krave .... It's very very close to Mr. Wonderful's Suprise. So now that I have found a so so replacement in "Krave" ... I have come to a sobering realization that I can't eat a whole bowl of this sugar laden yummy cereal. Lol .... It's hell to get old.

What an awful product! Frosting for breakfast? C'mon! Even as a kid I had a hard time eating this - how much sugar can you consume? Didn't remember strawberry.

I loved this cereal as a kid. I have thought about this many times over the years, but could not remember the name...thank goodness for BING and the internet. Going to try Krave.

I really loved this cereal. I remember it as a rice puff with a kind of soft by solid chocolate inside. I would love to see it come back and have it marketed as a dessert instead of a cereal.

It's a mystery why cereal companies discontinue what are clearly CUSTOMER favorites & replace them with what they feel (or are told) we should be eating. Usually the "healthy" replacements taste like cardboard or Styrofoam & you end up adding sugar anyway! Bring back Mr. Wonderful's Surprise (Vanilla) was a family favorite--YUM!!
