Description
This was a really long chocolate covered caramel candy bar that was braided. It was really chewy and yummy. These were discontinued in the early 1980's. Too bad.

Marathon Bars were produced by the Mars compnay and discontinued in Oct of 1981. Best candy bar ever made (behind Snickers). Cadburry Chocolates has one out (sold mostly in the UK and Australia) called Curly Wurly. It can be purchased on-line.

why did they stop making them. Everything else is coming back....why not these? Loved to put them in the freezer and then crack into small pieces.

I remember i use to ride my bike down to saunders grocery store, in the big town of belle union indiana population 147. Anyways the grocery store was the only thing we had besides a firestation and an elementry school. I'd save my change from allowance money and buy a dr. Pepper and a marathon bar, and what a treat it was. Im now 42 yrs. old and still remember it like it was yesterday sittin out front on the step eating that marathon bar that seemed like it went on forever and drinking my d.p. you know they were the best when i still crave them 31 yrs. after they quit makin them. Please bring back the marathon bar!!! Please please mars inc show all the later generations what there missing! Sincerely fan of the m.bar truely a candy bar from heavin.
