Description
A lightly colored, maple coated version of Milk Duds, that appeared briefly in 1976-77. I distinctly remember eating a box of these at the movies when I went to see "Silver Streak".I thought they were 10 times better tasting than the original Milk Duds, but they quickly disappeared from the scene. Not even the popular nostalgic-themed item company, Home Town Favorites, could track down info on this candy for me. There has to be at least ONE other person out there who remembers this candy!

I dont remember those but I can remember sometimes getting a pink milk dud in my chocolate ones. Did they make strawberry milk duds?

They also made Cherry, Grape, and Strawberry Duds as well for a short time...I would pay good money to buy those vintage boxes as well...
I LOVED Maple Duds! I Remember Eating Them When I Swa "Silver Streak, & The Movie With Burt Reynolds, "Lucky Lady" Every Time I've Tried To Bring This Candy Up To Nostalic Food Sites, Like Hometown Favorites, They Acted As If I Made Them Up- I'm SO HAPPY To Have FINALLY Found Others Who Remember- & By The Way, I Think They TOPPED Milk Duds By Miles!!

Yup, they made Strawberry Duds. I had them only once. My mom had a doctors appointment and we stopped at the general store, where I spied these and was allowed them. I ate several, then put the box in the back window of the car, where they proceeded to melt into one large "dud". Luckily in the inner wrapper was waxed paper and they didn't ooze out of the box. I have never seen them since, nor have I ever found anyone who'd heard of them until now. (The large, melted dud didn't go to waste - I still ate it!)

I remember a milk-dud type candy called "Maple Buds". They were a chocolate rosette sort of like a striated Hershey kiss with maple flavouring. I hear that someone is bringing them back.
