Description
It was a band of cereal that came out around the late 70s (1976-79); i remember the cereal beacuse my cousin would brag when his mother bought the cereal whenever she bought groceries. They were like Lucky Charms.

Ralston-Purina made Major Moon's Moonstones cereal. Major Moon was an insect-like character wearing a nautical officer's threads. Cereal more resembled Freakies than Lucky Charms. 8oz box sold for 70 cents. Saturday morning TV spot for this aired on "Skate Birds" over CBS (9/25/77). "Skate Birds" was patterned after "Banana Splits," with three costumed birds and a cat on roller skates in live-action segments around cartoons like "3 Robonic Stooges" and "Woofer and Whimper."
