I haven't seen looney eggs since elementary school in late 70's, early 80's. But I've been looking for them, especially around Easter time, ever since. I think the Cub/Boy Scouts used to sell them (at least at my school in Central PA) for fundraisers. I would love to find them again, or at least find out who made them and what happened to them.

I can remember these being sold on the playground for 50 cents around 1984 at the latest... I hope someone can direct us to where these may be found again. I've looked on occasion before, too, and never even found a mention online until today. Thanks very much for that.

I remember a corner store in Dundalk use to sell looney eggs but he would only have them for a short period of time. The looney eggs we got was one big egg the size of a standard eggs an it was a one of a find. Walmart carrys a gum a little like it in taste an sells it for about a week before Easter in a little plastic egg carton or in a pint size milk carton.Still it is not what I remember as the old time looney eggs I think it is gone forever.

They were my favorite. At Easter time, I would go to the corner store and buy a whole box to get them to last. They were the best!!

I found out that Leaf was the company that made them. if you go to candy they have a picture of it. Leaf was sold to Hershey in the 90s. They also had one out called hip candy.
