Description
This was a staple for me from 1974 - 1976, during my 2nd and 3rd grade years. I have difficulty remembering all of the flavors that were available, but I believe there were four. The only two I bothered with were chocolate (colored dark brown just like chocolate frosting) and banana (colored yellow). I believe strawberry was another of the flavors available. The spokes character was indeed, as already described by others, a giant, fuzzy, oval-shaped bodied character, with googly eyes all around his head. His voice was reminiscent of those muppetmaster Jim Henson would use. The added incentive with Koogle was to try spreading it over other types of foods and not just bread or toast. A carrot was one of the foods suggested to try Koogle on.

I remember the banana flavored Koogle Butter. Wonderful stuff.
I think the fourth flavor was cinnamon. Man I miss Koogle. Sigh.
The chocolate flavor was the best! I can still remember the flavor, it was great on bananas.

I loved it! I made my mother buy it every time we went to the store. She stopped buying it because thats all I would eat.
I remember these commercials on TV and I have been trying to remember for years what the product was. I recalled it was some sort of spread. You are all freaks but I am glad you remember so now I can finally put this to rest!!!
My husband and I have been looking for Koogle peanut butter for over 20 years. We use to eat it by the spoonful. We were in the Pittsburgh area when we use to buy it.
Oh you all make me feel so much better - I too have been craving this stuff since the 70's. I lived near Pittsburgh and think I ate it everyday for lunch for two years. I loved the cinnamon. Would give anything for a jar now.
I LOved the chocolate as well! It was like eating a gooey Reece's, only it was "healthy" because it was peanut butter. The jelly one would look like a jar of bruises after a while, because eventually the stripes would invade each other. Banana was also delicious-bring it back-why do they take away all the good stuff??!!
i think the character said something like "sha bat dat wah.....creamy koogle with the goog-goog-googly eyes.
I Can't find it anywhere or anything like it. I told my kids about it and they laugh at me but my favorite was the chocolate also. Sometimes I mix a spoonful of chocolate frosting with my peanut butter to get the same taste. Try it.
I thought this was a figment of my imagination. I am glad that there are others that remember. Oh, how I miss those googly eyes.
i remember it well, except for the name. as a little squirt, i just used to ask my mom to buy "googly eyes". she knew what it meant. Banana flavour was off the hook.
I ahev to laugh as I was wondering if it was still being made - Glad to see I am not the only KOOK for good stuff - I miss that someone should re-market the flavors for us 40 somethings!
I loved the chocolate, I would have my mom make me a sandwich with that and ham, good stuff!! My family thought I was crazy. They didn't know what they were missing. They still talk about to this day.
Thank you all for proving I'm not crazy. No one remember this flavored peanut butter but me. I knew I wasn't crazy. I even song the song like "here come google with the goo goo google eyes." I'm not crazy, I'm not looney. Lol. The flavors were chocolate, bananna, cinnomin, and strawberry. My favorite was strawberry, and chocolate. I hate it didn't last long.
Wow the memory you people have. I was just eating p-butter and banana on white bread and I had a flavor flash from the 70's...I tasted the chocolate Koogle in my head. I remember the swirls in the jelly too! Man the 70's RULED. It was the last decade of REAL toys. Koogle product was a 70's icon like the 8-track, am wrist watch, yellow arm-banana am radio, Schwinn stingray, hotwheels, big G.I. Joe...etc.
I have been craving the banana peanut butter flavor for over 30 years. When ever I asked someone if they remembered googly eyes peanut butter they said I invented it in my mind - why was it ever taken off the market?

I LOVED Koogle eyes peanut butter, everytime i go get peanut butter at the store i look as if magically it may appear back on the shelf. i have tried them all and nothing compares to Koogle. For those asking kraft took it off the market because of poor sales.
Nutella is nothing at all like Koogle. Koogle was made with peanut butter and Nutella is a chocolate spread with hazelnut. I remember this in elementary school. Hope it comes back one day. It was made by Kraft so they own the rights.
WOW! I was just looking up Googly Eyes peanut butter - thought maybe I was just something I imagined from my childhood! It was real! I remember LOVING the chocolate flavor! Maybe we should all email Kraft and tell them we want it back!!

Does anyone know a link the the Koogle commercial with the dancing guy, NOT the mom and son one? I remember the swirls in the jar and only the "RICH" kids could afford it.

As some of you mentioned above, people look at you like you're crazy when you ask if they remember Koogle. I too crave the banana Koogle. I'm emailing Kraft.
It seems everyone who has posted here has the same thing to say. Why do sp many people not recall this item. I remember the chocolate, banana and cinnamon flavors, but for some reason I thought there was a vanilla. Anyway I'm glad i'm not alone in craving this item. Anyone remember Captain Crunch Vanilla crubch featuring Wilma Whale or is that another delussional memory?

I'm 40 years old and I must have been 5 or 6 years old (around 1976) when I first tried it! I can't remember the exact name of the product, but I think it was called Googley Eyes Peanut Butter and I sort of remember the jar having a pic of a monster's face with googley eyes...it was also very sweet, but delicious! I was just telling a few friends last night out at dinner and they were looking at me like I was wearing clown costume!!!! HAHA! I'm glad other people remember this, too, and I'm not going crazy!

OMG!! I thought I was nuts too!!! Everytime I mention this to other people in my family they look at me like I have 4 heads!!! I loved the banana flavor!!! I would do anything for a jar of this!! Now I know i'm not crazy!!!
It's funny to see all the comments here are exactly the same as my feelings that everyone and I am also not alone! It's my favorite food memory when reminiscing w/others. People look at me funny like I was on a different planet, especially when I'd sing the jingle to them - yes I still remember it well! I was in my toddler years and loved the banana! Is this not available anywhere anymore? I have to say I do love Nutella now that Googly Eyes banana's nowhere to be found :(
i loved it too chocolate and banana was the best i wish it was here still ...i tell my kids about it and they look at me like i had 2 heads ....i wish it will come back instead of the nuttella ...it doesn't compare
Every so often I get a craving for the banana flavor peanut butter I had as a child. I also see an image in my mind of the google eyes. I decided to look it up to make sure I wasn't making it up today. I am 42 and I'm relieved that googley eyed jar of peanut butter was a real thing!! Wishing someday to taste it again.

For some unknown reason the memory of what I used to call googley eyes peanut butter crossed my mind and I thought I'd search it. Can't believe others out there remember and miss it too. Sure wish a company would bring it back to market. I remember it tasting amazing!
I also remember this terrific product, the children living after our generations are surly missing out on some yummy peanut butter!

A childhood favorite as well...fyi the peanut butter and jelly together in the same jar was Smucker's "Goober." Koogle was by far superior, no comparison. Thanks for reminiscing - my husband thinks I'm crazy of course because he has never experienced it! He will never understand the bond! Thanks Koogle!

I would beg my mom to buy it for me.. i called it googly eyes..never would have remembered it was Koogle??I am 44 years old and noone I know remembers it.. I loved the 70's as well.. but not the early 70's.. Just from 1975 to 1980.. Witchy poo still gives me nightmars
Another flavor was vanilla. I have been craving it also for many years. Wish I could imitate that flavour.
I remember koogle, also. My father used to make peanut butter cups with the peanut butter and chocolate flavored one. He used to put it in cupcake cups and put it in the fridge. I wish koogle would make a comeback!
This is crazy but I was actually in one of the Koogle commercials back in the 70's -- I must have been 8 or 9 and it was filmed it Toronto. I remember the jingle "Koo Koo Koogle with the Koo Koo Koogly eyes" I even remember some of my lines "I want some Koogle" and then the mom says "what's the majic word" and I say "please". Crazy to see there are a variety of sites on Koogle and that many are hoping for its comeback! Nice bit of nostalgia for me.

Well I might as well join the pack. I would've been 4-6 at that time. My brother would have been 8-10. At least HE should've remembered it but he and my parents all set I must've dreamed it. Everyone I've mentioned it to since including my wife says the same and she's my age. I can't believe it took me this long to look it up. I was a little boy with a big imagination but THIS WAS REAL!!! I knew I didn't make it up but I only remember it as being peanut butter I don't recall flavors. I called Googly eyes peanut butter probably what I called it back then. I have some texts and emails to send.

Y'know, it's funny to think that this stuff didn't sell well, yet there are 3 pages of memories on this site of those of us who remember it. (and I've posted on all 3 pages). For those of you who like chocolate Koogle, take some Hershey's spread and mix it w/ peanut butter, and it'll be 1974 all over again! I mixed up a whole jar of this stuff and NOW I HAVE MY OWN KOOGLE!!! Now all I have to do is print some labels! Koogle forever!

Every single day my breakfast was "Banana Koogle" and I sent KRAFT a long complaint but they won't bring it back because of "Nutella"
For many years I had a chocolate flavor jar with lid that I kept beads in. So memories are still quite strong on Koogle PB. I was allergic to bananas, but I remember trying the other three flavors, (cinnamon, vanilla, and chocolate) and ate a LOT of the chocolate. Still wish they'd bring it back.

I would set up late a night with our big family Bible reading stories of David and Goliath and other old testament stories while devouring jars of chocolate Google. Good times! Thinking of putting reeses cups in a blender. Nutella sucks!

Jiff now has Cinnamon Peanut Butter and as a child I LOVED the Koogle Peanut Butter especially the Cinnamon and the Chocolate one well now we have something close to it and I just bought a jar of it and I close my eyes and memories flood of the love I had for Koogle!! They need to bring it back ALL the flavors not only for those if us who loved it but for my children and grandchildren to try it too ( my daughter thought I was crazy when I told her about Koogle, I had to show her that it actually did exsist lol) I just mad her try the Jiff Cinnamon and she likes it, imagine if she tried the Koogle :D

I vaguely remember finding a chocolate Koogle sandwich in my lunchbox as a youngster, along with Hydrox cookies, and a Snack Pack of butterscotch pudding in the metal can... if I think hard enough, I can even taste it in my mind...
