I remember the Koogle Peanut Butter. I have looked to see if I might be able to find it somewhere, I'm so glad I found this sight. The Banana was my favorite! Wish they would bring it back again!

I too have searched to see if Koogle is still available. The girls I work with thought I was crazy talking about the Koogle Monster and how he danced around singing the jingle until one of them found this web site! I wish they would bring it back, it was the best PB ever!

Me too, bring it back, PLEASE. I have been trying to remember the name of this peanut butter for years. I LOVED the banana flavored as a kid, loved to smell the opened jar, the thought hasn't left my memory in more than thirty years. I too have asked everybody I know if they remember this peanut butter. I have been trying to remind my best friend about it for more than 23 years, she and my husband think I am crazy and just making it up. Finally, proof, I was so happy to find this site, and to view the top of a jar, I had that vision in my minds eye for decades, so glad I finally got to see it with my own two eyes again. Thanks. And PLEASE, bring it back!

I also remember this stuff, although they called it Google in Southern Illinois. It really struck me funny when the Google online services started on the Internet, because that's the only other place I'd seen the word. My favorites were the chocolate and banana flavors. The only other thing I found close when I grew up was Nutella, but that's made with hazelnuts instead of peanuts. I'd be ECSTATIC if they decided to make it again.
Debbie - August 31, 2007 - Report this comment
I knew that I wasn't crazy if nobody else remembered Koogle's, I remembered it clearly. I can still taste the chocolate flavor and nothing has come close to being that great since. I would be overjoyed if they started producing it again!

Didn't they have a peanut butter swirl? Man,I thought I was the only one that rememebered this stuff ( or so thought my family )

Same story here. No one I've asked, even people my own age (43), remembers this peanut butter! I liked the chocolate. But I also remember that crazy theme song that went something like "here comes Koogle with the koo-koo koogley eyes!" I even searched You Tube for it since they seem to have just about every other retro thing you can imagine but no Koogle!!! What gives!!!

So, I'm NOT nuts. I have an increible memory and remember the banana PB was great. I thought, like most, that I remembered it as "Google", then thought of the copyright crap....I guess that "juvenile marketing" does work. How do thousands of 40-something adults remember this defunct product like it was yesterday? Funny, the wierd crap folks remember and cherish......
Chuck - December 25, 2007 - Report this comment
What did the monster say at the end of the commercial? We always thought it was "Shabot that wa"! :)

I remember Koogle growing up I liked the cho. peanutbutter flav. I would eat it right from the jar with a spoon. I just recently had homemade fudge that tasted just like the Koogle I remember. Koo koo koogle with the koo koo kooglie eyes.!!!! My mother had for the longest time an empty jar with the lid pictured on this site. That stuff was great!

Funny, caught a snippet of one of the shopping channels tonight and they had flavored peanut butters on. I thought to myself "What was that weird PB that had this concept years ago?..." Something with eyes and strange alien mascots. Googly eyes! Decided to "Google" Google and came up Koogle instead. Was never a true PB fan, but the jingle was a school bus ride favorite. I remember it as Google or maybe Googlyeyes. But the more I think about it, I seem to remember the name change and wondering why. And wasn't there a King Koogle guy or something?... Great site, enjoying a trip down memory lane.

There is a company trying to do the same thing as Kraft (look at www.pbloco.com). My sister in law has heard me talk about Koogle and bought me some PB Loco Jungle Banana and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter from this company. It has brought back some memories. I urge any Koogle fan to try this brand of peanut butter. If you like it send me a message and let me know jerry-farrell @ charter . net. I plan on emailing some suggestions to this company. They also sell franchises for a pbloco cafe.

I LOVED Koogle in the 70's! I ate the vanilla flavor. I had just moved to San Francisco and had very litle money. I literally lived on vanilla Koogle sandwiches. Some people I know remember it; most do not. Kraft: BRING IT BACK!!! You can see how much it was loved. I'd be the first customer--I would RUN to the store!

So I wasn't just dreaming about Koogle peanut butter! I thought I was the only 42 year old in the Midwest who remembered that brand! My mom bought it for variety and to get us to eat. My favorite was chocolate, but I remember vanilla spread easier. My brother and I would run through the grocery store hunting for it like bloodhounds (I was older so I always got to the shelf first)! Thanks for the memories...

"What do you doogle with peanutty koogle? You spread it on and sandwich or a cracker or a bun! And then you doogle it one more time!" Flavors were banana, chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla. I ate chocolate...good times.

I remember "Here comes Koogle with the Koo-Koo-Koogle-y eyes". I loved the chocolate and the cinnamon and rarely put it on bread. But given the probably insane amount of chemicals they used to make it, I'm gonna stick to my memories. ;-)

I am 40 and I was in Indiana in the 70's. I remember Koogle and I also remember Bananarama. It was a very sweet banana flavored spread and I can't find any site or reference to it. Do any of you remember it or is it a childhood hallucination?

OMG!!! I was ADDICTED to Koogle chocolate flavored peanut spread!!! I am 42, and I also remember getting that jar and opening that lid, only to get that waft of deliciousness! The way it spread onto the bread, and that first bite of heaven... I bet it had drugs in it!!! No wonder they discontinued it! Someone probably found out what was in it and notified the FDA! (Just kidding!) I, too, wish they made it again, and I would share that koogly-eyed monster and that enduring memory with my nephews. Man, those were the days, eh?!

I remember a dancing googly-eyed peanut butter monster seeing 'with the goo goo googly-eyes'. Everytime I buy peanut butter, I rememeber that special peanut butter. It was so velvety, delicious! I loved the chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla flavors. I don't remember banana. I also wish it brought back!!

Any luck on convincing Kraft to bring it back?I think it would definitely sell. We would all be buying it off the shelves and imagine a whole new generation falling in love with it! Anyone who gets a petition around for I would definitley sign!!

I'm not sure why others my age did not remember Koogle. Maybe it was because of Annette's cramming of Skippy down our throats, or because maybe my mom wasn't "choosey", but I sure remember it. Vanilla Koogle...as close to Heaven as you can get without becoming a nun. C'mon, Kraft! You can do it! We need an encore, and maybe a better spokesman? :)

I can't believe I found this site, with Koogle and a bunch of people who also remember and loved it! I ate this as a kid where I grew up (Long Island, NY) and loved the stuff. I missed it terribly after they took it off the market. I also looked up my other favorite, Mug A Lunch (or Mug O Lunch) and found that product too! I'm having cravings now for my 70's favorites! :)

This is amazing to find others like me who loved and miss Koogle! Banana was my favorite! Koogle honestly had a lifelong affect on me...I'm 44 yrs old, and eat a banana with regular peanutbutter for breakfast almost every day at work! I'd love to see a nutrition label from the old Koogle...or maybe, I would rather remain ignorant and blissful with my Koogle memories. With so many of us baby boomers and Gen X'ers that fondly remember and miss Koogle, Kraft would have an eager market, who'd be willing to introduce it to upcoming generations. I wish they'd bring it back (Kraft would likely have to improve the nutritional quality to meet today's standards, but the market is ready and ripe for Koogle). Does anyone know why Kraft discontinued it in the first place?

I'm 38 and can still remember exactly what banana Koogle tasted like. I have craved it for 30-something years. What was in that stuff (?!) and more importantly, where can I get some more?
Ricky (Australia) - July 29, 2009 - Report this comment
WOW! I remember eating this when I was about three years old, living in a country town in Australia in the early '70s. To this day I can still remember the taste! Nutella is about the most similar product to have come along since. However, Nutella is not a substitute. Given the success of Nutella, I'm sure that Kraft have the resources to successfully return Koogle to the market. It seems there are enough fans out there already - wouldn't it be great to introduce Koogle to a whole new generation...

Duffy - January 12, 2010 - Report this comment
Nutella is NOT the same as Koogle! Nutella used a hazelnut base and they did nothing to remove the hazelnut flavor, they just masked it with a load of sugar. Kraft used advanced Washington-Carver science on peanuts to make a superior sandwich spead. Breakfast has just never been the same since Kraft discontinued banana Koogle.

OMG...my kids thought I was completely nuts when I used to talk about Koogle. I can remember sitting on the couch after school, eating a spoonful of Vanilla Koogle and watching tv (until my mom kicked me outside) Sadly I was limited to one spoonful a day....although a jar a day habit probably wouldn't have been a very good thing either. BRING BACK KOOGLE

At our house we had Freakies cereal for breakfast and Koogle on our sandwiches for lunch! These were the only 2 "junk food" items allowed in our house. I didn't have Koogle items but my brother and I had Freakies Cereal t-shirts and figurines! Also, my aunt Martha would let me have a WHOLE bottle of Pepsi - we only got a half of one at home! I absolutely loved Koogle as a kid. My mum used to buy us the chocolate flavoured one and yes...no one I talk to remembers it except my family. The only thing I found that mildly resembled it was Nutela and Peanut Butter together on a nice warm piece of toast with melted butter. Yummmy!! Bring back Koogle!!!
JD - August 09, 2011 - Report this comment
I was working as a stock clerk during the age of Koogle here in Canada. The reason it was discontinued (according to the rep) is that it was a slow seller - the competition version (which was peanut butter with a jam striped into it - either strawberry or grape) outsold it, and the shelf life wasn't great. Kraft did try to revive it (without the name) a few years ago with Kraft Chocolate Peanut Butter. Unfortunately, it didn't last over a year (higher price point). Up here, we even had novelty jars for the Koogle at one point, the plush toys. The order of expulsion was cinnamon first, then vanilla, banana and finally chocolate (that would have been around 1978)

My kid brothers and I got roped in by the "koogley-eyes" but the stuff was not very good, and I'm a junk food junkie. I mean, after one taste, even our garbage-can dog would growl at us if we tried to give him something with Koogle mixed in to help us finish it off. "We are the Freakies, we are the Freakies and this is our freaky..." I'd forgotten that one; now that I liked.

I am one of the select few like the the Koogle Lovers on this site. I have tried the other flavored peanut butters trying to find that distinct flavor. There are none out there that even compare. I was a Chocolate Koogle lover and my sister liked the cinnamon. I believe that if Kraft brought it back, (the same way, with no changes to the ingredients), this generation would love it, too. Not as much as us of course but I bet it would definitely outsell the wanna-be flavored peanut butters. Please Kraft, bring it back to the loyal Koogle Lovers all over the world. We are out here.

Disgusting stuff. Was guinea pig for it before hit market. Once it hit the digestive track—make sure you had a clear shot to an unoccupied bathroom. And the depression era mother wouldn’t let it go to waste—I just didn’t eat lunch until that garbage was out of the house.
