I loved Koogle Banana Peanut Butter so much as a kid, and am so sad that it's disappeared! I remember coming home from 7th grade, famished, and eating an entire jar with a spoon! I never liked the chocolate or cinnamon flavor very much. How fun to see it featured on your site...can I buy it anywhere?

my husband to be has shared some of his most memerable moments as a child. When he shared this particular story his excitement prompted me to research "Koogle" and I am so surprised to see that he was not the only one to share the sove for this peanut butter spread. So I wonder why they don't still sell this peanut butter spread anymore.

I remember Koogle very well , as a part of a child's unnecessary nutritional needs... Cinnamon was very amazing on toast ( i can smell it now..or can i just smell burnt toast ? lol ) And the commercial ? Kind of like a Kool-Ade character , with the lines " Here comes Koogle, with the Koog-koog-koogley EYES !" Bring back this stuff , so kids of this generation can have something to fondly wax nostalgic about , instead of 9,000 chemical food additives we suffer with today !!!!

I loved Koogle as a kid. When it disappeared off the shelves, I always wondered what happened to the best peanut butter spread. I remember seeing it on the shelves in the local "mayflower grocery store". Anyway, I've told the wife about this stuff and she does not remember it. Nice to see other people remember this stuff too. :)

I love that Banana Koogle too. I used to live on that fabulous peanut butter in the 70's. I've been looking for it or something like it for a long time. I sure miss it. I wish Kraft would bring it back.

Nobody at my work has heard of it either and thought I was crazy. Had to pull up this site to prove it existed. I was totally addicted to the banana Koogle when I was a kid! It was the bomb!
Philip T. - February 29, 2008 - Report this comment
I did a web search because for some reason I couldn't get the jingle out of my head. The cinnamon was my favorite - on toast, of course, or graham crackers. The banana and vanilla were good too. The chocolate wasn't quite up to the same standard - it's hard to make a decent chocolate spread. I wish I could share some of it with my 3 boys now. My oldest is about made of peanut butter. I'd love to see Kraft reintroduce it too.
Brian - March 01, 2008 - Report this comment
I liked the chocolate and the banana flavors. I had no idea it was Kraft. I think it would do wonderfully if it would make a comeback.

Koogle!!! Oh, how I loved Koogle in the early 70's! I remember eating the vanilla and cinnamon. It was so good you could eat it off a spoon, didn't even need bread! It had a very distinct flavor and I never could understand why they quit making it?! So many people I work with don't remember this great food of the 70's! Too bad for them!! HA

My Brother and I lived off this stuff. I think the Banana was my favorite I wish Kraft would bring this product back. Does anyone know who we could speek to? Lets talk to someone and ask them to bring it back.
Bruce - April 04, 2008 - Report this comment
If anyone is interested you can call Kraft products and request this product be made again. The number is 1-800-323-0768. If enough of us call I think they would start production up again.

Koogle Rocks! I grew up with 1 Brother and Two Sisters. Koogle was a big part of everyday food. I wish they still made it. Would make it alot easier than cutting up Bananas for my peanut butter sandwiches!

I am so glad I found this site! I loved chocolate Koogle it was the best. Has anyone started a petition to Kraft to bring it back using the original ingredients?
Julie Ann - May 07, 2008 - Report this comment
Any Koogle fans remember the jingle that went "Here's looking at You-gle Koo-gle?" That's the part I remember. Banana was the ULTIMATE. Wish I had a glob of it right now. And whoever said it did have a taste like nothing else was absolutely right. I'll sign that petition any day.

I LOVED Koogle as a kid and have been looking for a replacement for years. For a long time, Nutella was the only thing but on a recent trip to Canada I found real chocolate Peanut Butter that I believe is made by Kraft Foods in Canada. Oddly enough, Koogle was made by Kraft Foods!

I am so excited that I found this site....I have been asking people about this flavored peanut butter from when Iwas a kid in the 70's and no one remembered it!!!I think it's so funny that other people on this planet are still talking about this stuff too!!The mystery is solved!

I was ADDICTED to this stuff when I was a kid in the 70's. I couldn't get enough of it, especially the chocolate. I would beg my mom to buy it for me and bug other neighborhood kids if they had it. I can't remember what I put it on, though, probably ate it right out of the jar. What store carries a chocolate peanut butter in Canada? I live there now so I would go grab it in a heartbeat!

I lived on the Banana Koogle. I actually forgot about it through my adult years, but had a garage sale last year and found a Koogle LID in the pocket of an old coat I was selling! And my husband actually ate it as a kid also! Anyhow, the closest I've come to a similar taste is using regular peanut butter, and then spreading Nutella on top of the peanut butter - when the two are mixed together, it has a similar taste to the chocolate Koogle.

thank God i found this site! there are very few things i look back @ from my childhood in the 70's with such fondness as i do : my Close'N'Play (record player), my Evil Knievel (electric toothbrush) & "KOOGLE"!!! (food of the Gods!)... i used to run home before anyone else got home - grabbed a "Big" spoon from the drawer, swung open the fridge door & snagged the ultimate prize...KKOOOOOOOOGGGGLLE!!! i would sit myself down right in front of the open frige door - right on the floor. & THERE i would devour my jarred love of flavor exploding goo...ahhh, what it was to be truely happy for those all too brief moments in time. until the Koogle was gone - or i got busted. it was soo worth "spoiling my dinner" for. it was the best dinner a growing boy could ever ask for & with dessert all rolled into one! LOOKING BACK -i do beleive that Koogle was the prelude to my actual sex life. Yes!...KOOGLE IS a gateway drug. just as love is a drug. and some drugs are ment to enrich our lives. to help us see why life is worth living...well .. that.. & internet porn - i love the internet porn! Koogle is Porn? na-Koogle is Koogle & that's all the lovin' i need. (ps-what is this stuff that guy put in my drink?...) any-hoo....later---D.

I was surprised to see how many people remembered this peanut butter spread. No one I know remembers it. I grew up in the 70's eating the banana and chocolate flavors of Koogle-my brother and I loved this stuff. Sure wish Kraft would make it again-there just isn't anything in the world like it. I miss it sooooo much!!!

I grew up in a military family of 7. We shopped at the base commissary and Koogle was a staple AND a treat in our household. It was great on just about anything! Man, what a great food thing... Kraft would be foolish not to bring it back. They have a built-in fan base, ready to introduce it to a new generation (our kids)! My siblings and I actually still use "koogle" in our speech, 30-some years later. (It means someone with crazy eyes). Koogle eyes! I loved the stuff.

Peanut butter was a pretty great invention and it was a popular staple at my house growing up. Although, peanut butter was enjoyed for years as a youngster, peanut butter sandwiches could get boring at times just from the same old flavor. Then, it happenned, peanut butter with assorted flavors is available at your local supermarket! It's Koogle! You got to love those TV commercials - "Here comes Koogle, with the Koo-Koo Koogley Eyes" I think I tried all the flavors, but my favorite was the banana flavor. And then sadly, one day it was gone, and then it was back to ol' boring peanut butter again.

Ah, Koogle, the survival food for any childs fort in the back yard. My mother could never figure out why she could not keep it in the cabinet. I remember sleeping out in the back yard as my first camp outs, for survival rations, Dr. Pepper, Bananna Koogle, and a spoon.

Listen, Koogle was very expensive compared to regular peanut butter. Most mothers would not splurge for it and this is why most people did not remember it. Also I do not think it was as healthy for kids, back when people really cared about eating good. The other thing to remember is the jar was very small. I had 4 sisters and we only got it a couple times. There was another copy cat brand that came out and put swirls of jelly in the peanut butter as well. If it was still around it would not be as special of a memory.

I too remember koogle from my childhood. There is a product called Nutella that my son has on his sandwiches that reminded me so much of the chocolate Koogle that we used to have the first time I caught a smell of it, although Nutella is a chocolate/hazelnut spread. Try that if you can get it, it might just do the trick :o)

Koogle was such a treat in our house as kids of the 70's - whenever we got it - it was gone in a day or two. It's funny what we remember from chilhoods - I wish I could taste my favorite bananna flavor once again!
