Man...that brings back memories. I was just a kid when my parents took us to the warehouse type store that sold "Great Shakes" It came in a chocolate brown plastic container with a tan snap-on lid. There was Great Shakes mix inside the container. They packages were oblong and flat at each end, kind of triangular. both end seams were perpendicular if you can imagine that. it was a paper container and the inside was lined with foil i believe. anyway...they were the best tasting shakes. i remember i was really dissappointed when we quit being able to buy the powdered mix. this must've been in the late 60's. anyway...talk about a memory "rush."

Yardbirds,(Jeff Beck tenure), did a commercial for this product to the Over Under Sideways Down song circa 1966.

I searched for Years, for someone who knew what I was talking about when I would describe the malt drink. I couldnt not remember that it was called Great Shakes, just that it had the cup w/ oversized lid. Too cool! Is there a place to buy the magnet??

It was a chocolate malt flavor until they "improved" the flavor and totally ruined it. It was very expensive. I remember I was shaking it in the living room once when I was watching TV and the shaker came apart and Great Shake went everywhere! I learned how to houseclean that day.....very quickly!

LOL. I inhaled those Great Shakes as a little kid, I loved them so much that I had 9 cavities before I turned 9 (now in my late 40s,I'm paying for all that indulgence with dental work). Great Shakes' plastic container only added to the allure. Wish I could time travel back to those days. . . .

I was about 12 - shaking mine to the "greatShakes song - the cap came off the cup - great shakes everywhere - all went quiet - then all hell broke loose with laughter!
