Description
This was a product in existence definitely during the '80s & maybe(?) even during the '90s. It may have been around during the '70s or even as early as the '60s. It was a wafer bar with some kind of filling, like chocolate or vanilla in between the wafers & was covered in chocolate, vanilla or something else. I can't remember for sure what the other flavors were -- maybe strawberry or chocolate malt. They were so good & they probably worked along the same lines as the Slim-Fast Meal-on-the-Go Bars that are so popular today. I don't think the product still exists. If so, I'd love to find out where to get some since I'm a runner & energy bars are a big food staple of mine! Thanks!

These & Breakfast Squares RULED! I remember Double Chocolate Figurines were so yummy, like you wouldn't believe they were diet food. I remember the song in the commercial mentioned they had a 'calorie rate - 138 a bar'..Very weird how I remember that to this day.
Bob - October 30, 2008 - Report this comment
That dang song (to the tune of "Tangerine") gets stuck in my head from time to time. "...with a calorie rate of 138 a bar - my shape belongs to Figurines!" I just found this site by googling the words to the song because I wanted to be sure I remembered correctly. Man, did we watch a LOT of TV in the 70s!

I remember eating figurines for lunch at Jr high school with a TAB (diet coke) every day!!!
vicki - April 03, 2009 - Report this comment
I wish another company would start making Figurines again. They were so good. I would eat them instead of a candy bar. I also liked the Choclate mint and I think they made a carmel one later on.
gayle - April 10, 2009 - Report this comment
I've been trying to remember the name of these--I could remember them being produced by Pillsbury. They really were better than any bar on the market now. I REALLY miss the vanilla ones.

I loved these! Lost weight on them in early 80s.I so wish we could buy them now.
ann - July 04, 2009 - Report this comment
I loved figurines! I lost 18 pounds with no loss of energy. I loved the strawberry. So convenient and they didn't taste like mud the way lots of so-called energy bars do now.
chocoholic - August 17, 2009 - Report this comment
Pillsbury should bring these back! they are awesome even if they don't apply as a "diet" bar anymore I think tons of people would buy them. I have tasted many other bars and they don't taste nearly as good.

How do we get these back? Lost 20 pounds when eating these. Especially liked the strawberry.

Was sitting at my desk eating a kelloggs meal bar and thought "What was that bar I ate when I was younger, it was so good" loved the choc mint ones!! Remember they were called figurines, would love to see these come back.

these and carnation breakfast bars rule! with a whole generation of kids who remember loving these and some being parents ourselves now, trying to watch our weight they have a ready made market waiting to buy these - BRING THEM BACK!!!
Sue - April 21, 2010 - Report this comment
They dont make diet bars like that anymore....these other diet bars suck in comparison!!!!!!!!1
Kara Beth - June 29, 2010 - Report this comment
I still think about the "Figurines" soo often. I was a youngster and my mother and grandmother always purchased them. I always chose those over candybars and cookies... I didn't like the Figurine 100's kind. The original Figurines were delicious! My favorites, vanilla, double choc., choc. mint! I wish Pillsbury would just bring them back as a dessert bar! Anyone want to flood Pillsbury with calls, emails, and a petition of request?
Jimbo - July 01, 2010 - Report this comment
I can't believe somebody even remembers these. The vanilla ones were great. I still remember the sort of dry, thick taste. I'm reminded of them when I have cake batter ice cream on occasion.
Janet Schmidt - November 12, 2010 - Report this comment
They were great. Oh, I wish they would bring them back. The chocolate were great, but, the cheddar cheese ones ruled. Awesome. No one makes a savory bar. I hope Pillsbury does bring these back.
katie hudson - November 15, 2010 - Report this comment
My mother use to eat these bars and sometimes split a package between the kids. I was really sad to find out they are not being made anymore. Can I petition for them to come back?
Nessa - December 30, 2010 - Report this comment
My mother was always on a diet, and Figurines were always in the pantry. We were not allowed to eat them because they were for her, but that made us want them more. They tasted like candy bars to us kids. I remember the silver foil packages they came in, two to a package. Our Mom finally decided they were not working for her, and gave us kids the remainder of the box. We were so happy!

I would love to get some of these again. I was successful losing a lot of weight on Figurines. Get the message out. Need to put these back on the market. I don't care if they don't classify them as "diet" food.
Barbara - June 25, 2011 - Report this comment
I would love it if they started making these again. Hands down they beat any diet/nutrition bar that I can find today. I would use these everyday instead of Balance Bars if they were available!

Just wanted to share this with everyone. I was at a vitamin/nutrition store this evening and they had a protein bar called "Power Crunch" protein energy bar. It looks and tastes VERY similar to the Figurines bars. There were about 5-6 different flavors and you can probably get them at GNC or most of the major drug stores, or even online. Not as good as Figurines but darn close!
HelgaP - August 25, 2011 - Report this comment
"Figurines, do a lady proud. They're the diet lunch that you can crunch out loud" can't remember the rest but the end goes "My shape belongs to Figurines"! Sung to the tune of Tangerine.

My grandmother always had these in her freezer and we used to LOVE to sneak them. I really wish this product would come back, hands down the best diet bar EVER!!! So glad to know that I'm not the only one who is still interested, I was beginning to think I was crazy because everyone I ever asked about them they had no idea what I was talking about.

My dad worked for Pillsbury back in "the day" and helped to develop Figurines. We had a pantry full of these and Wheat Nuts that never seemed to go empty cause he was always bringing them home. lol. I wish we could still get em too. lol The Chocolate Mint were my favorites!!

It seems crazy that we all still think about these bars. But they were truly the best "candy bar" ever! I loved them so much as a kid my grandmother had to hide them so that I would only have 1 per day. If she didn't hide them I would each the whole box! LOL

PLEASE bring these back Pillsbury, I LOVED the chocolate mint bars, I have missed them for years!!! They were so different from other diet bars because of the wafer consistency which I also loved!

I began dieting in 1973 after my son was born by eating the chocolate peanut butter figurine bars. I could not find them in the 1990's when I moved to Florida. That was the best diet plan in the entire world! It was easy to stay at 105 lbs. Now nothing works that well, so the weight and old age has made me just plain angry! Please beg for the production again.

I remember as a kid, my mom and I would go to the local grocery store, and she let me grab a box of Vanilla Figurines in the blue and white box as a snack for the week, now that I'm older I actually crave them, and cannot find them! I too am older now and would love for the company to re'release them...Miss them!

I have been looking EVERYWHERE for figurines. I lost A LOT of weight on these. I never felt hungry, or shakey either.I can't do slim fast or other energy bars because they made me so sick. If they bring figurines back, I hope they won't mess with the formula. They tasted great! It was a special treat for me. 2 small meals a day and a figures bar. I dropped 70 lbs and felt great.

Like other people, I too have thought about these fantastic bars many times over the years and just tonight decided to look on the internet to see if they could be found. These not only tasted great but truly did curb the appetite and helped a person to lose weight painlessly. I'm going to see about writing directly to Pillsbury. Would buy them right away and I know quite a few friends would too.

I remember my aunt, Patricia, went on the Figurines and Tab diet. This diet was very popular in the Detroit area, lots of women were on it. Figurines were great but Tab was so gross. It was so long ago, I thought, I was the only one who remembered Figurines.

I loved these bars. I lost weight on them and maintained my weight loss by continuing to eat them. They were around in the early 90's as well. I remember they had come out with Figurines Smores Bars, OMG, there were 4 packs in a box and 2 wafers in each pack with filling in each. And I maybe wrong, but it seems like the 2 wafers had 150 calories total. They were so so so so good to eat. They were full of vitamins. I lived off them for years and years. I wished they would come back too and I would buy them every week.

I just loved eating these too- every morning. I know it helped with my weight and they were very satisfying... I just found a box of "Power Crunch" protein energy bars in the nutrition aisle at Publix that are similar..it's the closest thing I have found. I've only tried the peanut butter creme but I think they also had it in vanilla. anyway visit powercrunch.com if you want to check them out.

My sister and I loved figurines. Especially the vanilla ones. We so wish they would bring them back. But, we have found a similar product. Power Crunch bars (vanilla, chocolate, and PB). You can get them at Wal-Mart and Target. These are protein bars, 14g. Very close.

I found bars that are, to me, almost identical to Figurine bars. They are called Power Crunch and they come in almost all the same flavors as Figurines. They are crunchy and wafer-like. I love them. They have mint chocolate, peanut butter chocolate, vanilla cream, plain chocolate, peanut butter cream, salted caramel and others. Try them! I think you'll like them! Low sugar, low carb and high protein. I get them at Walmart and Publix in the diet bars section.

Ditto to all, bring them back! I did find a Power Crunch bar that reminds me of Figurines, taste good too. Don't know how they compare to nutrition of Figurines though....giving it a try...unless Pillsbury decide to bring the Figurine bars back! Please@! Yes! Do! Why did you ever stop selling htem.

I lost 60+ pounds with the figurines bar. I counted carbs. I had them for breakfast and lunch with a low carb supper. The chocolate mint was my favorite. They were delicious! I wish they'd bring them back.

Please bring these back! My mouth is literally drooling right now thinking of Figurines, especially the Chocolate Mint and the Chocolate with toasted coconut on top. I ate them every day for breakfast with a big glass of tomato juice to fill me up through the morning at high school until 1971. I could have that for breakfast right now. Everybody's right -- nothing on the market now tastes as good!

My mom used to buy the vanilla and occasionally chocolate and strawberry bars. I remember the first time I took an airline flight alone, at age 11, she packed some in my bag as a snack for me in case I met with any delays and got hungry during my trip! Great memories and those vanilla bars were so delicious. Wish Pillsbury would make them again and maybe package them as a snack bar instead of a "diet" bar. I would buy them by the case! Everyone, keep emailing the folks at Pillsbury and ask them to bring them back.

So many of us who were teens in the 70's have happy associations with Figurines. If they brought them back there would be an instant following! They could use an updated version of the same jingle (to tune of "Tangerine") for instant recognition. I ate my Mom's then because they were so delicious. Now I'd eat them to loose weight.

I loved Figurines. I worked as a cashier during high school in 10th, 11th and 12 th grade at an old grocery store early 1980's. I bought Figurines because I was super busy with school and working to pay for old car gas and insurance. And of course Figurines kept me on the go. They were 1.99 per box and had a total of 6 packages in each box and 2 bars in each package. Smores was the last flavor they came out with. My favorite. I loved the chocolate and vanilla also. I wished Pillsbury would make them again. They were the BEST weight loss bars on the planet. Would be today too, if they existed. And the best thing about them, they tasted so freaking incredible. I kept my weight way down while eating Figurines. All the bars that has came out in past 30 years, especially Adkins has been very hard to swallow. Ugh. Bitter. The original SlimFast Bars were tolerable. And the old Slender BARS peanut butter that were out the same time Figurines were,,, they tasted good. But NOTHING TOPS FIGURINES.
