Description
Not sure if 70's or 80's food-made by Borden or Kraft (I am leaning towards Borden) Little balls of(I guess) processed cheese food. Just loved them. Came in a bag like shredded cheese does now-individually wrapped snacks-loved them as a real small girl =)

I remember these too. You could unwrap them and eat them as is, or you could take a knife and smash one out onto a Triscuit. I know these were popular, so why aren't they being made anymore?

Have wondered for years what they were called. I have such a vivid memory of their slightly tangy, but mild enough for a kid flavor. They were wrapped like a salt water taffy, but round. I could not get the wrapper off those things fast enough! Does anyone know who made them and most importantly can I still get them???

If anyone has an old wrapper to this cheese snack, please email me as I'd love to buy one. Also, if anyone has any old 70s candy wrappers they would sell, please email me, I collect them too and pay good cash for them!

Haha, wow! I just had a random memory about Cheese Kisses & did a search. I'm glad other people remember them too. Does anyone remember "Thick & Frosty?" It was this concentrated, spoonable frozen ice creamy stuff you stirred into milk to make milkshakes. Yum! I'd still buy it. Really good with cheese kisses, I bet. :)

I just thought of them tonight as I had a small piece remaining of a chunk of Borden's sharp cheddar cheese and I realized this cheese tasted rather like Cheese Kisses from the 1970's! (I usually buy Kraft cheese and only Borden when it's on sale and then I chop it up for tacos, etc. so I don't think I've ever eaten the Borden cheese by itself to really notice the taste.) Anyway, the Borden chunk cheese does taste fairly like the old Cheese Kisses except for the fact it doesn't have the creamy melt in your mouth texture of the Kisses. I'm guessing they went off the market because most people would just buy the chunks to snack on (with crackers, etc) but I used to just eat the Cheese Kisses all by themselves. I don't recall seeing them anywhere after 1977 or so.

I remember these were sold in green hanging baskets at the Green Hills Grocery Store in St. Joseph, MO. I loved them too and wish they sold them for me and now my three year old daughter.

I just found a recipe card in a recipe box I started in the 70's for a "Cheez Kisses Tree". Pictured is a styrofoam tree covered with lettuce and Borden Cheez Kisses, secured with toothpicks. The materials needed are listed below this introduction: "Every holiday table deserves a holiday centerpiece. And Borden Cheez Kisses make it a foolproof project that's perfect for letting kids pitch in with holiday perparations."

My mom used to feed me Cheese Kisses when I was a child and I loved them so much. I asked her recently what ever happened to them and she thinks they stopped making them because they were so expensive.

I loved cheese kisses back in the 70's! Wish they still made them. The cheddar were my favorite, softer than a block of cheddar cut up into cubes. My kids loved them too.

I don't know why these things popped into my head recently. I couldn't remember what they were called, I just remembered that they were wrapped in cellophane like candy, and that they ROCKED! LOL. I ate them in the late 70s, probably 1977/78 or so. I figured I could find them here :) I wish they still made them!

Same story...people think I'm crazy when I talk about those awesome little cheese kisses. still have a hankering for them...like right now! They were like the cheese version of salt water taffy. Kraft needs to jump on it!

Heck yeah! I remember those tasty little morsels of pure cheese bliss. It sucks that all the good stuff isn't made anymore. I say we all petition the company and demand they bring them back...lol

Wow I'm surprised to see how many other people were looking this up! I was born in 1969 & absolutely loved KRAFT! Anything really but most importantly the kisses! MMMM... Cheez Kisses. Didn't think it was Borden but guess so. My Mother told me one day I said I was going on a "KRAFT" diet, I'd only eat Kraft items LOL! Let's hope someone brings them back! Cheese Curds are awesome too!

I miss these! My mom always reminds me how we kids would sneak into the fridge for these, and she didn't really mind, as they were fairly nutritious, but we thought we were getting away with something!

I remember my babysitter bringing these over when she would watch us while my folks were out. They came in a bag and each was wrapped like taffy. Balls of cheesy bliss. Why don't they bring them back, they were so much better than laughing cow type discs.

Aha!! I knew these things really existed!! I was reminiscing to friends about those little, individually wrapped cheese kisses and they kept telling me I was imagining them. I knew I wasn't crazy. Hahaha.

I talked about these to people at work today (the majority of whom are my age or older) and no one remembered them! I said I was going to find proof online and here it is! I always thought the funniest part was the bag called them, "Processed Cheese Food". :)

OMYUMMMMINESS!!!!!!! I am now 52 yrs old & I can STILL to this day remember the tangy, creamy taste of those lit'l golden bites of sunshine!! My grannymama would only allow us to have two each when we came over but I would sneak into the kitchen & grab at least two more, then hurry up n go outside to eat them. Lol I also remember the very day my grannymama told us that she can't get them anymore, she couldn't find them at any of the supermarkets... I didn't know what I was going to do, nothing like that has ever happened to me like that b4 at that age. I was very confused.. lol But....I wonder 🤔 if she ever caught on that all of us kids used to sneak them??? 🤫Lol Maybe that's why she started putting them in the crisper drawer? Was too hard & noisy to sneak extras.... lol 😏 darn! But heck yeah... bring those baby's back!!!😁 I have a lot of years to make up for! Happy daze again!! 😂 Thx to who ever started this thread... lol this is great & many happy memories. I also enjoyed reading every one else's stories as well... this is awesome! Cheesy dreams every one!!!! 😁
