I LOVED my toe socks .... (after the prerequisite learning curve..that is, it took a LONG time to get used to the feeling of having each little tootsie covered.... AND they made your feet wider so you had to have generous shoes to wear them!) Such kooky multi-colored, horizontal stripes! Making a revival now in 2007; Walmart sells them!

Hated my toe socks. My grandmother used to give me goofy socks and these were one of those. I wore them once...when I tried them on after receiving them. Other popular socks were the thin knee-socks that had weird stuff printed on them. My favorites were my "pizza" socks. They had an overall print of pepperoni pizza on them. I also had spaghetti socks and hamburger and fries socks, Coca-cola socks and more. Snoopy in all his characters were also on a number of my crazy knee socks that I'd wear hidden underneath my Navy jeans (bought at the Army-Navy store), my Levi cord flares or my baggies!

A few years ago my mother sent my daughters the toe socks that were mine from the 70's. This week my sixteen year old is going to wear them to school for wacky dress day(Homecoming wk). Toe socks that are 34+ years old. What a hoot! They were uncomfortable in close toed shoes so thats why we wore them with clogs, another 70's must.lol year old toe socks. Who'd of thought

The girl across the street in the early 70s wore rainbow-striped toe socks with open-toed, cork-soled clogs that had lime green vinyl uppers.

I got a pair of these for Christmas from my Aunt in 1976. They were the rainbow design, and I loved them. They were *very* uncomfortable at first...I would equate it to having a wedgie that you can't adjust.. After time I got used to them, I would wear them to gym class in the 6th grade, with my gym suit. Now that's what *I* call fashion!

I got my first pair of toe socks for christmas when I was about 8 and that was in 92. I've loved them ever since and have always had at least one pair in my sock drawer!
