I was a surfer in the early 70's & the style was surfer t-shirts, flannel shirts, levi jeans, & desert boots - the light tan colored ones...also those wide leather watchbands with a diver's watch, Seiko or other.

The first pair of shoes my mom actually allowed to me choose for myself. It was 1973, 8th grade at St Vincents Catholic grade school. We girls wore green plaid skirts, and I found a pair of green desert boots that matched the uniform PERFECTLY. everyone made fun of my shoes, but I loved them and was heartbroken when I outgrew them a year later.
