    By: Allan Chemnitz
    • 10. Green by Steve Hillage
This masterpiece is one of the most overlooked progressive albums ever made.
    • 9. Weather Report by Heavy Weather
This album opened my eyes towards jazzfusion. It all started with the love for this album. Somewhat different from what had listened to previously.
    • 8. Moonflower by Santana
This live collection of the best Santana tunes just does it. The brilliant collaboration between all the musicians is unique. Its magic.
    • 7. Going For The One by Yes
Not much to say, just never could leave it behind. Just timeless.
    • 6. Song Remains The Same by Led Zeppelin
One of the best live sessions ever.
    • 5. Miles Davis by Bitches Brew
Unfortunately I discovered the genius of Miles Davis a bit late, but once I "caught" the idea of his music the love for his music never faded.
    • 4. Electric Lady Land by Jimi Hendrix
I think that Jimi Hendrix could have moved in any direction if he had lived. On Electric Lady Land he was "flirting" with progressive rock. My dream is that he would have continued working with Miles Davis? One can only wonder what they would have made?
    • 3. And Then There Were Three by Genesis
The development of Genesis as a band is quite interesting. Although I am a huge fan of Peter Gabriel, it obviously was nescessary for the band for him to leave in order to find the true expression and sound. There is a similar story if you look at Pink Floyd. After Syd Barrett got crazy the other bandmembers had to find their own feet in order to survive as a band.
    • 2. Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
I consider Meddle, Wish You Were Here and Dark Side Of The Moon as being sequels.
    • 1. Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd
This is the ultimate album of all times, no question about that. To me it was an eye opener to progressive rock. A true timeless masterpiece.

All the albums on this list followed me all the way from my youth to my adulthood, without I in any way got tired of listening to them.

    By: John M Marmora Jr
    • 10. Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
This group's best album. It has "Stairway to Heaven", "Going to California", "Black Dog", "Rock and Roll", and "When the Levee Breaks"
    • 9. All Things Must Pass by George Harrison
This is George's solo masterpiece. "My Sweet Lord", "What is Life", "Isn't It a Pity?", "If Not For You", "Beware of Darkness", "Wah Wah", "All Things Must Pass", "Awaiting On You All", and "Hear Me Lord" all appear in this set of work.
    • 8. Wish You Here by Pink Floyd
      Syd Barrett where are you?
    • 7. Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin
I like "Boogie with Stu", "Down By the Seaside" and Bron-yr-aur" and that plane going down...
    • 6. Fragile by Yes
Jon Anderson's singing is probably the best on this collection of work. and Rick Wakeman is here too. "Round-about" and "Long-Distance Runaround" are on this album.
    • 5. Brain Salad Surgery by Emerson Lake And Palmer
Keith Emerson ,Carl Palmer and Greg Lake play and sing their hearts out in "Jerusalem", "Karn Evil 9 Parts I and II", "Still ... You turn Me On" and "Bennie the Bouncer" This album is their finest.
    • 4. Shut Up 'n Play Yer Guitar I, II, III by Frank Zappa
Frank Zappa's guitar work on this 3 part masterpiece is amazing!
    • 3. Who's Next by The Who
This is the Who's greatest album. It has "Baba O'Reilly", "Bargain", "Won't Get Fooled Again", "Going Mobile", and "The Song is Over".
    • 2. Then Play On by Fleetwood Mac
The end of Fleetwood Mac's blues leanings - Peter Green's last hurrah - "Oh Well", "Rattlesnake Shake", "Seaching for Madge", "Fighting for Madge". Great Guitar stuff!!!
    • 1. Let It Be by The Beatles
The finale to the greatest band ever. The fab four no longer. "Two of Us", "I've Got a Feelin'", "Let It Be", "The Long and Winding Road", "I Me Mine", "Get Back", and "Across the Universe" are the epitaph in this group's final sets.

    • 10. Hejira by Joni Mitchell
I am a fan of all of Joni's works but "Hejira" is a mellow cascading daydream of poetry that takes me to a magical place of contentment. I view this album as her most brutally honest self portrait into her soul, and if that was her intent then I respect her all the more as a human as well as the finest female songwriter that ever existed!
    • 9. The Yes Album by Yes
Yes is the kind of band that if you like them, you like just about everything they've done. It's difficult to choose just one album but this has the majority of my personal favorites as well as my favorite member line-up which constantly changed over the years.
    • 8. Chicago VII by Chicago
I have every original Chicago release up until they lost their lead guitarist Terry Kath. Every other album has its moments of greatness but I would not consider them perfect as a whole. Not only does this release offer two of my all time favorite Chicago singles "Call On Me" & "Wishing You Were Here" but the entire album kept my attention peeked unlike most of their other releases. This is a major accomplishment being a double album!
    • 7. Little Queen by Heart
Unless you own this album, you would not know that the band played mandolins and mini moogs. "Barracuda" the only single from this album doesn't showcase these instruments. Not only do they utilize this sound, they seemed to have perfected it meshed with brilliant harmonies from Anne and Nancy. By far the best release Heart ever had!
    • 6. A New World Record by Electric Light Orchestra
Ahh... symphonic rock at it's best. Three singles and many more enjoyable tracks make this their masterpiece!
    • 5. Crime Of The Century by Supertramp
Concept, concept, concept!!! Their didn't need to be a hit single, and this was their debut!
    • 4. A Night At The Opera by Queen
The epic powerhouse versatility and arrangement of the tracks is mind boggling to this day!
    • 3. Don't Shoot Me, I'm Only The Piano Player by Elton John
With all of Elton's 70's releases being the cake, "Don't Shoot Me" is the icing! Every songwriting style is here at it's best.
    • 2. Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Even with 4 powerful singles: "Dreams", "Don't Stop", "Go Your Own Way" & "You Make Loving Fun" this album doesn't let up there. Each track is an entity in itself which grabbed me in the depths of my musical soul. I wore the grooves of boths sides of this vinyl people!
    • 1. Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd
Historic! The greatest soundscape eargasm ever created. I'm not the biggest fan of Pink Floyd as a whole but this particular piece of work is absolutely brilliant, timeless, and forever a masterpiece!

My absolute favorite band of all time is the Grateful Dead, although they were difinately established throughout this decade, I don't believe any of their studio albums are worthy of making the top ten. It was always about the live experience for me when it came to them!
