Description
A football board game in which the players would select plays from small mini-CD sized records that had the offense play selection on one side and a choice of about four defensive options on the other side. After player 1 selected the offense disk and player 2 slected the type of defense - the disk was push down inside a small record player and an announcers voice would describe the play and the outcome (gain or loss of yardage) the the yardgae would be marked off on the board. My brother older brother took mine to college and lost it. I sure did like that game. Has anybody seen it? :)

I still have my set, the player no longer works but I have all the records! It was awesome. I wish I had the baseball version of this game.

My brother and I played this so often, I can still remember many of the plays, LOL. "A long pass....wide receiver open in the end zone....TOUCHDOWN!!!"

Oh the memories of this game! I would set up games on cold winter nights after getting this for Christmas the year it came out! I would use football cards for the players and kept offensive stats for an entire season! It was my life then, it was so much fun! How I wish Mattel would create a modern version of this game, using mp3 with unlimited play selection, and statistics as well! I miss you Talking Football!!

This was Mattel Talking Football from 1971. Talking device powered by AA-cell batteries. about 15 play discs were included. A decent simulation game for its time. A newer version, Game Time Talking Football (NFL endorsed) came out around 1992, with more elaborate detail.

My brothers and I got this game for Christmas in 1972...it was the hottest thing on the market back then. We played non-stop with our neighbor friends during vacation. Grew up,stopped playing it. Then years later we picked it up again, using mini football helmets for the teams. Just got a used game from eBay...brings back all the childhood memories.
