Description
This was a skipping toy consisting of a plastic ring that one put one's foot through and 'wore' the ring around one's ankle. From the ring, there extended a length of thin tubing ending in a sort of a bell-shaped plastic piece. The idea was to get the toy spinning around in a circle and each time the tubing part got near one's other leg one quickly lifted that foot to let the item go by and then one put one's foot back down until the item came around again, repeating this. I'm not entirely sure this was a 70's-only toy. It *may* have been on the market in the late 60's.

I've no idea if it was a 70's toy, but I had one in the late 80's early 90's & I LOVED it! Mine also had a counter on the ball that worked much like a pedometer, so you could count how many times you'd jumped. Oh I wish I could find this again!

I had one in the late 90's. It was a plastic ring with a bright purple nylon rope and a yellow plastic ball on the end with a bell in it!

I am looking for a similar toy that everyone calls the skipit. The one I had was a little different, there was a plastic piece that was shaped to fit the heel of your foot and there was a rope attached right at the heel of this plastic piece ,by the way it had a strap that went around your foot with a buckle to hold in place and there was a yellow ball at the end of the rope.if any one knows where i can find one please email me at .littlelil55@comcast.net thank you.

I know exactly what you mean ,I had one in the 3rd grade circa 1968. It was the plastic ring with a vinyl flexible rope and a plastic bell shape on the end. I don't think It was called Skip-it though. I believe the Skip-it came after that.

I played with one of these endlessly as a little girl in the late sixties, I too believe it was called a "footsie" and I have part of the commercial running through my head, driving me crazy

For some reason this toy came up in conversation tonight. The one I was looking for is also the one sarajo was looking for and is called the Jingle Jump. I did find one for sale on Ebay for about $18...wish I would have kept mine!
