Description
This was a green plastic "paddle" that you held up in the car window to communicate with people in other cars. You held onto the handle and could flip the cards that said things like "HELLO", and "SMILE". I remember having lots of fun on long trips with this one! I can't find anything about them online - do you know about them?

My friends and I use to have a BLAST with paddle talk in the 70's. Some of the flip cards said You're Cute, I Love You, Wanna Talk?, etc. I was just telling my teenagers about this tonight. I found a similar item on ebay and bought it just now, but the handles are black instead of green and the sayings are totally different. I told my kids that they could create their own cards for it if they wanted to. Cool memory!!

My sister and I are the only members of the family who can remember these fun toys. We played with on the highway from Montana to Florida in the late 70's. wish I could find a set for my kids.

I remember this too. Here's something about the paddle we had that might help someone find it now. The very last message page said "Follow me to K-Mart!" As if someone actually would! So ridiculous! But funny at the time... Must have been some sort of K-Mart promotion on that one...

I found 1 available posting on etsy for a vintage paddle talk toy on 7/17/16. Also found dry erase paddles, on Smile.Amazon.com, which I was thinking would be a great way to talk to others while on the phone, or in cars, etc. Cool!
