No passing , but loved it anyway.I remeber when a friend brought it to school and it was the first one we saw. We would give up playing at lunch standing around for a turn to try it....way cool.

Primitive by today's standards, Mattel's Electronic Football handheld was first available during Christmas, 1978. Like Rich said, no passing. Also, no penalties. You had the option of playing Pro One (easy) or Pro Two (harder, computer players more aggressive). The game clock equalled about three minutes a quarter. Retail price was forty dollars. Was not NFL endorsed. Mattel's Football 2 game came out late in 1980. About the same, only with enhanced sound effects.
