Urban legend that they were made out of glass!
These were never made of glass. ()It is true that glass clackers were just an urban legen). Acrylic was the only material used in their production.
they were banned because we cept knoing our own teeth out! my aging mother still has the bills to prove it!
MY MOM GOT ME NEW ONES EVERYTIME THEY BROKE i ALWAYS HAD BLACK AND BLUES ON MY WRISTS BUT WAS REAL GOOD AT IT LOVD THE PURPLE ONES WITH THE SPARKLES IN THEM! BUT THEN THEY CAME OUT WITH THE PLASTIC ONES THEY WERE NEVER THE SAME! THEY WERE ON OF MY FAV TOYS! WISH WE COULD STILL GET THEM! I LIKED THE SO CALLED GLASS ONES!! THEY WERE GREAT!!

I have a pair of thee original and there red with the orinal string , Dirty yes but same string
I had purple as a kid and may bruises trying to master the up down contact clacking I tried submtting an image for you but says my file was to big new phone dont know how to downsize.
