Description
A doll with a switch on her back when turned on she would crawl for next year and when she bumped into something she would stop and fall stretched out and here arms and legs would flail up and down like she was having a tantrum. I loved it... kept me amused for at least an hour.

Oh the memories, she was one of my favorite dolls, until I took her outside to play "house" and left her in the woods for about a week or so.

My Mom has one that she is letting my daughter play with, she actually still works. I wish it was the same one I had when I was younger.

I had this doll!! I got her for Christmas when I was about 4 yrs. old. Loved playing with her until one of my stupid cousins broke her leg and she couldn't crawl right anymore.

My husband bought this doll for me to replace my childhood one. It works!! But, it does not have the original outfit. I am looking for it desperately (mine had the pink outfit) not the red. Any idea on where to look? Ebay does not have it without buying another doll!

I have loved this doll from the first one (1974). I have had at least 6 of them because the first 2 fell apart and then my 3rd one i had taped together for years until I found Ebay. I even wrote Mattel when I was 11 to ask if they had anymore in storage. I got a brand new in the box one a few years ago that still works. My mom always thought she was cute so when I moved out i got her one to 'watch over her' when I am not around. Since I was partial to the 3rd one, I got her a new body and she is sitting on my bed like she always has. These dolls they make today are not cute, not like our dolls from the 70's...

I never had this doll but my older sister did. I remember my brother and I, were scared of her. Sure she had a cute look on her face but secretely, I thought she was posessed lmao. Everytime she was taken out and crawled my brother and I, would shriek "No mommy not the battery doll!" Needless to say my sister was made to put her away. We took the batteries out of her rear end and shaved her head hey it was the early 80s and the punk rock scene was in all that was missing from baby that away was a nose ring.

I had the 1974 Baby that away doll. My brother bought that for me when he and his girlfriend went for holidays and they bought me this doll on their trip. I was 3 years old at the time. I still have the doll and i am 45 years old. I cherish the doll very much, because my brother is no longer with us.

My boyfriend recently got this doll for me on ebay to replace the one I had in the 3rd grade. I love her just as much as I did then. Not the original outfit but I'm not concerned with that. I brushed her hair out and plan on buying more outfits for her lol

I got Baby That-a-way for my 8th birthday in 1974. I loved her so much, but she came w/ a loose switch. I remember one night, I had her stored in her box, when my dog brushed up against it, and that loose switch made her turn on all by herself! I heard her motor whirring, and woke up to find the box rocking from side to side! I woke up my whole family at 2 in the morning w/ my screaming! I had to take her batteries out every night after that. Fast forward to 1990...I was at a toy show, w/ no money. I was looking around when I saw her sitting on a table. I picked her up and began to rock her, and told the lady who was selling her about the one I had when I was 8. She told me to take her, and I told her I didn't have any money. She said that I didn't understand, she wanted me to take her, for free! She saw me look at her w/ so much love, that she wanted me to have her! I nearly cried! I now have 2 and they both work, (but both have a dragging foot). I love them both very much!
