People are confusing more than one BBQ potato chip sold in the St. Louis area in the '70s through early '90s. I grew up eating KAS 'Ozark Style' BBQ potato chips. It was KAS in the '70s that made the chips I loved. Later in the late '80s or so the brand was sold or KAS was bought out and a new company name was on the bag but the hillbilly was the same--------------but the flavor was changed to be sweeter (the same way Steak n Shake ruined their chili and chili mac!). The confusion arises from more than one BBQ potato chip being marketed as 'Ozark Style' back then in the St. Louis area. For me 'Ozark Style' only meant KAS which remains the finest BBQ chips I've ever tasted. For anyone in the South a good BBQ chip is Golden Flake Sweet Heat BBQ.
