I'm here today because I was happy to be eating a bag of Lay's BBQ that finally tasted like something - for several years now, they've be "KC Masterpiece", which I generally avoided. I grew up in Iowa and now live in California, so I was THRILLED when we recently got back Laura Scudders - it's a poor man's treat, but the QC varies a lot and you can get an RRB (Really RED Batch). Anyway, it reminded me of the GOD (Good Old Days), when I was around 10 and I'd spend the night with my best friend and we'd get TWO BAGS - one for each of us, and we'd chow down past midnight. My family was from Ottumwa, and they had a local brand called "Guy's" that also had a mean chip, but I think I might pay up to $100 for one bag of fresh Ozark BBQ Chips just to see if my memory was fooling me. As I recall, they were SO RED that it was worth licking some before you ate them.
