Description
Zotz were around in the 70s and 80s. They were the best candy ever (except for Swedish Fish). Some marketing whiz needs to get Zotz back on the shelves.

I used to love Zotz! Many a fond memory with these, and other candies from the 70's. Zotz are available (along with some other oldies candies) on candyfavorites.com/

Zotz were definitely interesting. I never really bought them...just sometimes ended up with em at Halloween. They kind of scared me a little, because they felt almost electric when the extremely fizzy stuff started oozing out. Like the 'battery on the tongue' feeling.

...Saturday afternoon at the baseball field, watching my brother play and eating Zotz! I never will forget when some stupid news story said a kid's head exploded from eating them. Man, were people naive in the 70s.

Remeber how they used to come in a string of connected packs and they'd count them off and sell them to you?

Cracker barrel in Southern Indiana carries them. Bought a bunch at Christmes for stockings and to hand out to folks who had never had them. The "string" is only 5 zotz long now.

Zotz candy originated in Italy (1968), made by G.B Ambrofote Company. The American import machine started distribution here in 1970. The popularity of Zotz peaked in 1972-74. In the early years, a string of eight Zotz sold for around 40 cents.
