Description
I think it was hollow cylinder shaped snack that tasted like cheetos, it was with Daisies and bugles from general mills.

Whistles were wonderful! I remember how as a kid I used to stick 'em on my fingers before eating them. But they didn't taste anything like Cheetos -- they were MUCH tastier and had a better texture, too. I miss them.

Whistles were the bomb! A sort of cheesegasm, if you will. I actually wrote to General Mills back in uh...um... and they replied, "Gee, we didn't sell enough of those. But here are some coupons for [I forget what]."

I TOTALLY agree that they were nothing like Cheetos. Much better! I do remember that they were out at the same time as Bugles. I had forgotten all about Daisies! Wow.

To WHISTLE BLOWER and Carol: You'll find many fun stories and comments on the "Whistles, Bugles and Daisys" site page. As a quickie, General Mills came out with Whistles and Bugles in 1966, Pizza Spins in 1965, and Buttons and Bows in 1967.
