The original was by Hershey's and had no caramel. They later added caramel and it went under the Willy Wonka label.

This was one of my favorite candy bars in the late 70s. Had one a few years ago and didn't notice caramel as an ingredient. Boy, was that a shock! They ruined my childhood favorite! But I still have my memories.

1978 WHATCHAMACALLIT candy bar is introduced by HERSHEY. 1987 WHATCHAMACALLIT candy bar was reformulated and caramel was added. 2002 King Size introduced. 2002 New brand graphics.

I agree....NO CARAMEL! I always ask people if they remember when it didn't have caramel and they always had it. Nope. Please bring it back without caramel!!!

I remember the no caramel Whatchamacallit!!! To experience it now, I have to bite the caramel off the bar carefully (tastes like Rolos) wait a few minutes then enjoy my “old school” Whatchamacallit
