Description
It was a hamburger bun with taco meat inside..as I recall, they were really good! We used to get them after a trip to Grand Central Mall in Parkersburg, WV.

I believe you could order them with tomatoes and cheese. It's been a long time but they were really good.

Awww! They were so good. The closest I have found is at Taco Casa here in Texas. They call them a Taco Burger. These are really good, too.

In the late 1960's, about 10 years before the Bell Beefer, Taco Bell sold the "Bell Burger". It was a sloppy joe like burger that was filled with the loose seasoned beef that was also in the crunchy taco. It was seasoned with a sauce like Mild Border Sauce and topped with shredded mild cheddar cheese. They also steamed the hamburger bun to warm and soften it. The Bell Beefer was a revival of the Bell Burger, but they added tomatoes, lettuce and sour cream to it. The original Bell Beefer was just loose meat, mild border sauce and grated cheddar cheese on a steamed hamburger bun.
