oh, thank god, I am so glad to find this site, and find others who remember the delicious Summit bar! yes, better than twix. bummed wasn't made again at docsweetscandy@yahoo.com, Clawson, MI. Got free samples at (former) Meijer's (grocery) at 16 & Dequindre, Sterling Hts., in ?70s, ?80s. Then would buy them, they're good!!

I remember when Summit and Twix were introduced. Loved them both. I was in high school and had several newspaper routes back then. A glossy flyer in the Sunday funnies introduced both bars, and the flyer had a coupon for each candy bar. No buy one, get one deal. It was a coupon for a free candy bar. Out of my 350-400 Sunday paper customers, I can safely say that none of them received a coupon for a free candy bar!! I will admit that store clerks would look at me funny when I came in with 24 coupons and got a case of candy bars and placed it on the counter. Still, strange looks but no hassles. Ahh, the good times.

This was my favorite candy bar. Just looked at the turn back the clock candy collections sold on Amazon - no Summit candy bar. If they had it, I'd have bought one. It really was so good!

I loved Summit bars. My sister would get Twix and I would get Summit. Never forgot about it. The closest thing I've found to the taste are the Reese's Stix. Same texture and taste...chocolate, peanut butter and wafer cookie.
